I love this no poo shampoo. It's gentle and does not dry out my long wavy hair. It has actually improved the dryness, and mad my hair soft and awesome looking!! Cannot say enough good things about this product.

This is a great shampoo. You just have to realize that you don't need much. It takes a bit to get used to a no-suds shampoo. It's moisturizing without weighing curly hair down. Effectiveness This really does help to bring out the curl in curly or even wavy hair. It moisturizes without weighing hair down. Scent It's a nice, light scent.

I really wanted to like Deva Curl's No Poo Shampoo, since I've heard such good things about Deva Curl's line of products. (And on principle, I appreciate a product line that caters to the often-forgotten needs of curly and wavy hair!) So when I got a sample, I was eager to put it to the test. But this product underwhelmed me. A no-poo is nice in that it doesn't strip your hair of essential moistures that are critical for typically-dry curly hair. I assume this wasn't really stripping my hair, but it didn't feel very smooth after I used it; it almost had that squeaky-clean feeling you want to avoid. That means I was inclined to use more conditioner to compensate; not a problem, but not exactly the point of the shampoo! If this were a little less expensive, I might be inclined to give it more of a chance, but at its price point it wasn't worth it for me to keep trying it. However, it may work well for somebody with a different curl type.

Somewhere in my mid 20s my thick straight hair started going wavy, then curly, with no help from me. Since then I have struggled to find a product that will let me wear it in its curly state without the frizz that normally accompanies it. I have tried shampoos, conditioners, creams, etc, but I still end up using a straightener because no matter what my curls end up frizzy. I was excited about this shampoo because a friend recommended it. I don't doubt that this shampoo works for some people, but sadly, it didn't really help me that much. Effectiveness Since my hair and scalp are dry I don't shampoo that often and I had read other reviews that said Deva Curl No Poo was great for that. For me, it left my hair feeling heavy and almost greasy which is a problem I never have. I felt it was also difficult to wash out. I really wish this had worked, but in the end I was disappointed. Scent Smell was alright, not great, but not terrible. Nothing special.

I have wavy hair, but I normally need to use shampoo for curls to bring out the natural curls in my hair. When I saw a stylist use Deva Curl No Poo Shampoo on a person with hair similar to mine, I decide to buy the shampoo even though it is way more expensive than what I would normally spend on a shampoo. Deva Curl No Poo Shampoo is different than traditional shampoos because it does not lather. This is also a non-sulfate shampoo, which I like because I try not to use too many chemcials in my hair. I normally only use a small amount of this shampoo in my hair. It does a good job of getting my hair clean, but it's not so good at bringing out the natural curls in my hair. After using this, I felt like it left my hair limp and lifeless. My curls did not hold well after using this shampoo like the Effectiveness This did not make my curls look natural like this product is supposed to do. It did clean my hair, but it seemed to weigh down my hair as well. Scent The scent was just average. It didn't smell great, but it didn't smell terrible.

Always in search of the perfect shampoo for my curly hair I saw rave reviews for this and coughed up a lot of money to buy it. I thought this would be it. After the first use, I knew it wasn't for me. I found it to be very drying. The reviews were wonderful, but I did not experience any of the greatness that others did. I did use the entire bottle just to make sure, but I will not buy again. Very drying and did nothing for my curls. Effectiveness I did not find this at all effective in helping my curls to do all that this promised. Very drying to my normal, curly hair. I normally love non lathering conditioning cleansers, but this was not a good choice. It promises healthy and bouncy curls. I did not get any of that. I followed the instructions, reviewed their website, but still could not find anything good about this, except I had spent more money on a product that does not deliver. Scent I'm not really sure how to explain the scent of this shampoo. I did not find it enjoyable at all. I guess I would describe it as a mix between minty and medicinal.

I am so glad my hairdresser introduced my to the Deva product line. The No-Poo shampoo does not contain the drying ingredients that mess up curly hair. By using the line of Deva products for curly hair, you don't need to shampoo as much so the No-Poo lasts a long time for me. That helps when considering the cost of the product. I always purchase the largest size which saves money in the long run. I love the smell and its great to know that the shampoo is not full of chemicals. When you start using No-Poo, it is a little hard to get used to the fact that there are no bubbles. It may feel like you are not getting your hair and scalp clean, but it does get the job done without the suds. I think following with the Deva One Condition and An-gel is a great combination and you will start to love your curls. Their website offers some videos to help with learning how to take care of your curls. There is also a book written by the hairstylist who developed Deva which is also very helpful. Effectiveness Your hair feels clean without all of the chemicals. Scent It has a nice smell but is not overpowering.

It is a little expensive (as most non-sulfate shampoos are) but definitely leaves my hair feeling softer and cleaner than my regular drugstore shampoo. My hair is long and naturally curly and I haven't tried any other Deva curl products yet, but I am convinced that a non-sulfate shampoo is the answer for the most manageability of my hair. It is thick and creamy and I only use enough to rub it in my scalp. It does not leave any residue whatsoever. Edited after a few months of use: I am not as excited with this product anymore and hardly use it. It does eventually feel like there is a ton of build up, which I find so ironic. My hair became so flat and weighed down and I didn't really want my curls flat to my head, just not so frizzy. It also did't add any extra time to my coloring schedule like this shampoo is supposed to. I won't be purchasing it again. Effectiveness It really does what it says it will do - cleans your scalp and hair very well even though there is no lather. It doesn't take a lot - even with my long hair and washing it every other day I expect the bottle to last 4-6 months. Edited after a few months of use: Yes clean, Yes I still have more than half the bottle left, just don't like the heavy feeling it leaves on my hair. Scent It has a mild plastic/medicinal scent that I really don't care for but, like I said it is so mild that it is definitely not a deal breaker for me.

A few years ago, my hairstylist clued me in to all the damage I'd been doing to my naturally curly hair and hence naturally dry scalp by pyling my hair full of silicone-based conditioners and gels, then using sulfate-based shampoos to strip all that gunk and my scalp's natural oils from my head.  Rinse, wash, repeat. Deva Curl No Poo is a sulfate-free shampoo that does what I really need a shampoo to do - cleanse my scalp - without the addition of harsh lathering agents or sulfates.  If I use an ingredient on a shampoo bottle in the laboratory to denature proteins, there's no way I'm sticking it on my head and on my favorite proteins of all (my hair cuticles!). No Poo has a pleasant scent.  It doesn't lather like a regular shampoo, so you must be careful to rinse your scalp well, as there won't be bubbles there to remind you.  I apply a little bit to my hand, then use it to carefully wash my scalp using just a few fingers and concentrating my efforts at the scalp, by the roots of my hair.  As someone with fine curly hair, I've never had problems needing to clean the tips of my hair, so why bother that part of my hair at all? I usually use No Poo just when I'm traveling - I prefer Low Poo for my regular showering, since I can get in a hurry and forget to rinse it all out well.  If it wasn't for the rinse issues I personally have, it'd totally be five stars. I follow with Deva's One Condition.

I have fine hair with some damage on the ends due to perms & highlights.  I like the LoPoo version better, but this is great too.  Even on my fine hair it doesnt weight it down & I dont have to wash my hair as often.  My bangs have body even at the end of the day, & sometimes into the next.  I can go every other day with out washing it & sometime can just wet it. & redry.
