Sticky situations
The Disney Cars Convertible Bed was love at first sight for my little nephew. I helped to purchase it as a gift for him that would be kept in our home because he basically lives here anyway. It is a really cool bed with interesting features but there are a few things you should be made aware of prior to purchase. The first thing is that assembling the bed is pretty simple and straight forward with the exception of the stickers. It is important that they are placed meticulously well in order for the bed to really look right. The bed can fit relatively easily through a standard sized door without issue. When switching the bed from a toddler to a twin, I suggest you purchase a box spring so that the mattress is lifted up off the ground and equal to the height of the plastic sides of the car. You can elect to skip the box spring all together if you want to use the plastic sides as guards to prevent the child from rolling off the bed. The structure of the bed is pretty stable but the stickers seem to tempt toddlers to pick and peel at them. The front area of the bed has a toy bin under the car hood. There isn't much of a down side to the bed but I can't stress to you enough to do your research for price comparisons because there are many stores who have this bed but the prices are ridiculous at some places. I would also suggest purchasing it in person just in case there are any missing parts to save yourself the trouble and wait for replacements.
