I am a huge fan of dell and this pc desktop rocks. Its easy to use as well as fast. My kids and I play wow, as well as other games everyday on this system. Out of the 3 computers that I have this is one of my favorites. An everyday computer worth the money, and space.

The Dell Optiplex is just that, Optimal

I love my Dell Optiplex.  It's very versatile, It does just about anything I tell it to do.  It's got outstanding speed, it comes with multiple USB ports - aiding in adding additional input components, and supports several different operating sytems.  I use it mainly for checking my email, surfing the net, and playing games online.  I also use it for chatting online and with my webcam.  The speed is a good feature with the online gaming.      It has a large hard drive which can be upgraded.  I upgraded my CD Rom drive with a DVD/CD Burner by myself, so it is very easy to upgrade certain components yourself.  It comes standard with 2 USB ports in the front of the machine  for ease in using the ports to upload pictures from your camera, videos from your camcorder, and just about anything using a USB port.  It came with a standard mouse, but I upgraded that with an optical mouse that works very well. All in all, it's a very good machine for the average home computer user.

The Dell OptiPlex GX620 is a satisfactory purchase.

My Dell Optiplex GX620 is the first dell computer I have owned and I'm not 100% sold on the brand as far as this computer is concerned. Although it is a satisfactory PC I have had some concerns in the time that I have owned it. My major concern is with Dells tech support or lack of it. Point in case, I somehow obtained a virus which I could not fix and needed to restore my operating system. I no longer had the original restore disk but my computer was still under warranty. After two months of haggling with tech support I was finally sent a new restore disk that was a lower version than my original. Another concern is the speed and temperature of the PC. It has a Pentium D processor and plenty of RAM but seems to slow down or freeze up at times after long usage. Maybe the small size of the tower case is not allowing enough ventilation causing lower performance of the processor.   Aside from those concerns I am pleased with the dell website. The suppot page is easy to navigate and there is no problem in finding what you need as far as drivers or hardware updates. As far as the PC there are plenty of USB ports (two in the front, six in back). It has a built-in ethernet card and video adapter. It came with a flat screen monitor (model # 1708 Pt), which has excellent graphics. Overall I am satisfied with this PC for the purchase price, and would consider an upgraded model of the same brand.

I would have to say it is above quality

**   I have used the Dell OptiPlex™ GX620 (620UMIN) PC Desktop for quite some time now, and have had 4 in my business.   Over the years the performance has been excellent and the service is far more superior than any other manufacturer i have used in the past. I rely on quality, quick response time, ease of use, and reliability. ** **   I have also purchased a dell Server for my company have had no problems with any of the equipment in the 12 year span I have used them. I only purchase dell products because of it. ** **   If I have had a problem in any way the matter is handled immediately or the parts are shipped next day and I have a Dell certified computer representative at my door the next day. ** **   There is alot more to choosing a product besides the initial programs, speed, sound system, and memory. If you are going to buy a product for your home or business use I say the reputation of service (most important ) (how fast and efficient the problem is resolved) and reliability is.** **   It is enough you spend what you spend on a product, but how ( in this ever changing computer industry is ) long can I still use the product and keep up with the changes in the industry without having to replace my entire system because in the long run, you will not only save more money, you will save time and inconvenience of having to replace software and/or systems every few years. **

The Dell Optiplex GX620 is one of the best and most dependable.

The Dell Optiplex GX 620 has been a great step up from, I did own a Dell Optiplex 260 and both of them are very durable and dependable. But what Dell has done is taken strides from the Optiplex 260 and made this wonderfull GX 620 they've upgraded the Optiplex 260 and made it great. I would own no other.

A great server machine.

I have had the Dell OptiPlex Gx620 for a while now. I have converted it into a server and use it dually with another Dell.  Together they do an excellent job of staying active, and keeping all files in tact.  I have had to tear them apart a few times though, due to some errors, which have been resolved.  This product is a good quality for the price that you pay.  The intergrated graphics card works great, the audio is crisp.  The processor is just what I need to join up with another machine and make a server for my network.  As the network administrator, and certified by microsoft, I say that Dell has done an excellent job on this machine.  It works a lot better than my HP.  I may by another and intergrated it with the other two so I can power my network even faster.  The quality that I expected from Dell is unmatched by this computer.  As an investor, I have had a full return on this great machine, it has paid for itself!  Great job Dell!

The Dell Optiplex GX260 is a good family computer.

This computer is good for people who just want something basic and compact. It comes with a CD-Rom drive by default, so you'd have to buy a CD or DVD burner, if that's what you want. It has a pretty fast processor, but lacks in RAM. It starts up pretty fast, surprisingly. The hard drive that comes standard is pretty small, compared to what most computers come stock with today, but is plenty enough for people who don't need to store tons of music or video. This desktop was built mainly for Windows XP, but works well with Windows 7. No problems with freezing, but you may want to buy your own Graphics Card. The power source is not that powerful, but it's enough for people who aren't looking to expand. It runs quietly, and doesn't use a lot of electricity. Not really something for gaming, but works well with a lot of other things.. Doesn't take up a lot of space, can be stood up or laid down on its side. This computer works pretty well for a small, low power desktop. Good for families and people who just want basic!

Save your money on any Dell Desktop PC.

I bought a Dell and paid a premium price for it.  Guarantee if you find it advertised for a lower price, they will refund the difference.  FALSE!!  I found one cheaper and they made all kinds of excuses why I did not qualify for it.   Within six months, I had trouble with the computer so called customer service and then Tech Support.  After waiting for several weeks, finally got someone that came to the house to check things out.  The guy wreaked  of smoking, as well as smelling like he had not bathed for a month, was very rude but finally said there was a problem with the hard drive.  It was finally replaced. A couple of weeks later, more problems and when the Tech guy came this time, I was told the motherboard was bad and would have to be replaced.  After a few more weeks of no computer waiting for the motherboard to get in, it was finally put in and tested.  Now most of the computer has been replaced, made new. Within another six months, more problems and I lost everything from the hard drive again, as well as more problems with something on the motherboard again.  I was told if I got any other brand I would have a lot more trouble with them but I got another one anyway.  I had lost enough time and money on Dell and invested in a HP.  I had that for five years with not a problem at all with it.  I would never do business with Dell again as they not only did not live up to their promises, but tried every way they could to dissuade me from getting a good computer and stick with them.  I do business with reputable dealers, not crooks.  Lie to me once, shame on you, lie to me twice, shame on me.  Never again will I ever have a Dell.

good system for a beginner

3

not a bad system for a novice or a beginner. needs to have a bigger harddrive and a lot more memory  gets slower and slower day to day other than that no major issues with this system  could use a card reader or a floppy drive but you get what you pay for i have used many different dell computers before and the optiplex is a good tower for most any style user  can be easily upgraded memory, harddrive, are simple upgrades. processor and all are more difficult to get to  if you are not a tech you better have a tech do the work for you in most csaes i would recommend a dell for any user from the beginner to the advanced gamers or any major company to be used for most any style business they are usually a very reliable computer compared to most other systems will play most games with no difficulties can run more than one process at a time with little to no difficulties software issues are not to much a problem with windows xp

The Optiplex GX260 is great for normal everyday PC use.

3

The Dell Optiplex GX260 is just another good quality PC that is great for all kinds of users. Whether you are just getting started with computers and have no skill in it what so ever, or if you are a person who has mastered the arts of technology and in need of purchasing a new computer, then the Optiplex is just right for you!         I have used the Optiplex GX260 for many years and I have only ran into two problems; one of which was my fault and the other easy to fix. After these issues, I have gotten to know the computer from  the inside out. I know hold the knowledge of all the basic and advanced parts to this computer. To my knowledge, I know of two *CPU's (Central Processing Unit) that can be used with the Optiplex: the Intel Inside Pentium 4 or Intel Inside Celeron. My suggestion is to buy one that contains the Pentium 4 processor for I asure you you won't have any trouble with it then (I know I haven't).         The Optiplex is easily upgradable to different operating systems (Windows 7, Ubuntu, DOS, etc.) and won't slow down the speed at all.         So, whether you just want a computer that can do normal tasks at normal speeds, then the Dell Optiplex is right for you. Especially its convient way of being placed horizontally or vertically. Tip: To anyone who wants to purchase this computer, my suggestion is to buy the stand along with it so it *chassis won't break open so easily.   **Notes:* **A cpu is the core conponent to any computer. It is what determines the speed of a computer.* **A chassis is the casing to a computer.*
