While Dell Laptops are a favorite of mine, their Power Supplies and cables seems to be made to break. Consistently every other year I have to replace the cord or the supply or both. They run hot and seem to be made of frail wires or such that eventually just don't supply the laptop and the battery with a consistent supply to keep them going. Don't replace your expensive battery until you've checked to see if it is really the power supply causing the problem!

The rubber strap makes the power adapter very tidy to pack up and store.  I like the straight plug that goes into the laptop.  I had one that was curved and it tore up in a very short time.  The plug from the wall outlet into the adapter is secure and you do not have to worry about it coming undone.  The adapter does not get very hot, so you do not have to worry about it damaging anything that it is setting upon. I consider it a pleasure each and every time that I use the dell power adapter.

We have two laptops in our house. One of the laptops has had to have the power cord replaced two times. The top part of the cord on this laptop bends and tends to break the wires inside. It also needs to be plugged into a ground plug, as the plug end is a three pronged plug. However, for the dell power supply it has never broken or been replaced. The end of the plug is only two pronged and can be plugged in anywhere. Of course if you go over seas be sure to take your plug conversion kit. Dell has really thought things out when they designed the power supply for their laptops. It also has an attached strap that allows you to wrap the cord and strap it together so that it is compact and fits into a pocket on your carrying case. You don't feel like you are a clown with a magic trick when go to pull it out to plug it in. Good Job Dell.

I bought a Dell Vostro Laptop-the power adapter is horrible!!!  Have to wriggle the cord for it to power up.  Adapter lasts maybe 10 minutes.  Very disappointed in this product.  Does not connect with the plug.  Does not fit right.  What is happening with Dell products??

This is a nice power supply, mostly because it does what it's supposed to. It has a nice led power indicator right on the power supply itself. It has a rubber strap that wraps around the wires and the box to keep it tidy and compact when not in use. My only complaint is that the cord is pretty short, so I can't move my laptop far from an outlet if I want AC power.

My employer recently issued me a new laptop computer, replacing the Toshiba Tecra M2 that I had for 2.5 years. The Tecra was getting a little long in the tooth, so the IT department gave me a new Dell Latitude D620 computer, which is nice and nicely equipped... but not perfect.  One of the accessories that came with the D620 is a power supply that can power either the D620 directly or can power the laptop's docking station, which in turn can power the laptop. According to the label on the power supply, its model number is HA65NS1-00. I actually received two Dell HA65NS1-00 power supplies -- one for the laptop and one for the docking station that was also issued to me.**What it is** The Dell HA65NS1-00 power supply is typical of such devices and is  encased in hard black plastic. The underside of the power supply (the side where the label is) is slightly concave and the ends are rounded. One end has a jack into which the six-foot-long ungrounded AC power cord is inserted; the other end has a six-foot-long cable that supplies power to a connector on the computer. Attached to one side is an elastic rubber strap that's used to keep the cables neat and tidy. The overall size of this power supply is about 5.5 inches long by 2.25 inches wide by one inch thick. As laptop power supplies go, it's a little on the small side. However, it sports a sizable power rating: 19.5 Volts at 3.34 Amps. That's a solid amount of power for such a small power supply. **Using it** It's no great technical feat to use the Dell HA65NS1-00 with my D620 computer -- just plug the AC power cord into an electrical outlet, then plug the other power connector into the power port on the computer. There are no lights or any other indication that the power supply is working, although the computer will show that it's on line power (as opposed to battery power) once it is booted. This power supply has enough juice to charge the battery at the same time it powers the computer, and it doesn't strain doing it. The HA65NS1-00 gets only a little warm after running the computer for hours. The HA65NS1-00 power supply and its various components feel like good quality devices. I also like the rubber strap used to keep the wires neat, which is a better system than the Velcro strap used on Toshiba power supplies. **Summary** I like the Dell HA65NS1-00. It is small, powerful, seems well built and has a thoughtful design for something as prosaic as a laptop power supply. I recommend the Dell HA65NS1-00 laptop power supply.
