Well, I have had my Dell Inspiron 546 for a year now, and overall I am very pleased with the system.  This is just my third computer in 10 years, so when I buy a system, I plan on using it awhile.  I had already gotten a Dell for my daughters, and after their continual loading and unloading program, downloads, surfing the internet and watching movies, the computer just kept going!  I needed a new desktop for my business, so I went with a Dell too. I did do alot of shopping around first, but they had a really good deal on the system I wanted so I went ahead and decided to take the plunge.  I opted for the colored bezel (green!), since my computer is in the living room.  Right out of the box, it started right up, and everything was clearly marked and very easy to set up.  One of my reasons for getting this system was for watching movies too, which it did great for about two months.  For some reason the movieplayer software just stopped working right, and I could never get it upgraded or fixed by Dell.  I downloaded different software altogether and just gave up on the pre-loaded movieplayer.  The hardware for playback is wonderful, so all in all no complaints about how the movies play.  Aside from the software glitch, this computer has been great--runs fast, easy set-up and maintenance, and a year later everything is still going great with it!

**I have purchased Dell Computers since I owned my first.  The Inspiron  546 Desktop is updated, all problems that may occur are fixed internally by the computer itself.  It is fast, handy, and smart.  I like that it includes a hook up to Microsoft that uploads the necessart improvements that the Dell needs to continue running smoothly without fault.** **The directions to set up the computer str shown on a cardboard  layout,  it shows you where all external cording goes.  The addition of new programming that I might add is not done by just me alone, it comes with a wizard that shows you how, for those that just aren't aware.  Good buy.**

Runs nice and fast, fully upgradable, and was able to get most of what i wanted installed at the factory. Fans are pretty quiet, but disc drive gets loud when CDs are loaded. Shipped and arrived 10 days before it was scheduled.

I recently purchased this desktop for my daughter for Christmas. She LOVED it! Was very impressed with Santa! And so was I! It has more add-ons than mine! LoL.. Includes a great amount of games for her to enjoy! Fast system! Everything you could want for your child that is a student! I contimplated buying her the pink netbook she wanted for Christmas, but I thought this would be a better option for her at her age. I am VERY glad I made that decision! It was the best gift for her from Santa!
