I went to the store looking for a nice gift for my husband. I told one of the store employees that my husband is always tinkering with something and that he needed a strong, reliable tool that would help him. I told him we were going to be building a house soon and that he wanted to do some of the work. He asked if we had a good drill. I told him that the only thing we had was very old and not very strong. It was an electric drill that was old. He showed me the DeWalt line of tools. He said that the best place to start would be to get a cordless drill. They had a couple of models but he himself preferred the 81 vold drill. I bought the DeWalt 18V Cordless Drill and gave it to my husband for Christmas. When he opened it, he was so surprised. He told me that he had been looking at that very drill. He had been reading about reliable tools and DeWalt was supposed to be one of the best. When he first used it, he couldn't believe how much power it had. All it needed was a quick charge to get it started. It also comes with 2 batteries so if you use one up, you just pop the other one in. I must say that this has been a great drill! We have also been able to buy all kinds of drill bits for it so that we could tackle all kinds of jobs.We love it so much that we bought one for my Father-in-law. He doesn't do much but occasionally, he needs to be able to drill something in or move old things around. I do not use power tools myself but one day my Mom asked me to move the bar that she uses to pull up with. She said it needed to be higher up. My husband had originally installed it and used the DeWalt drill to screw it into the wall. I told her that I would work on it. To begin with, I tried a regular screwdriver but it was so tight in place that I couldn't even budge it. I had brought the DeWalt screwdriver with me and told her I would give it a try. I called my husband and he gave me a quick tutorial over the phone. I was kind of scared since I am not used to using power tools of any kind. He had always made it look so simple that I decided to try it. I discovered that it was really simple. The only problem that I had was making sure to apply enough pressure while unscrewing it. If I didn't, I found that I was drilling into the screw head. Once I got the hang of it and got it going, it was really easy. I was able to move the bar and screw it back in all by myself. That is quite a feat when you aren't very strong and are not used to using any kind of power tool yourself. I loved how easy it made the task for me! This drill is so strong and really gets the job done quickly. I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs a reliable drill. The only negative things I can say is that if you aren't very strong, it takes some getting used to (learning to apply the right amount of pressure to the screw). The other thing is that after a while, it becomes kind of heavy if you aren't all that strong to begin with. This tool was designed for people that have muscles and I don't. It is still very usable for beginners. My husband is very strong and he said that it never makes his arms feel tired. You can tell when you hold it that it is well made and will last. It is not a flimsy, cheesy, lightweight tool that can't handle the job. It is strong and can handle the job. It is a good tool for anyone (including professionals). I believe that we will have this drill for a long time. After we had it for a while, I also bought another DeWalt tool and I can tell you, everything they make is made with quality.

I have used this drill as a professional installation cable guy. I worked for AT&T as a contractor in Chicago and the surrounding areas. THIS is the professional drill to have. And even though the original batter was fine. As a professional, a second helped me and others as a drill was our life to finish a job fast and quickly. Many long days were saved and the drill was a hero to other cable guys, as I had a working battery that I always had and made sure I charged every evening.

Unit is great, but batteries cost way too much. I buy a new drill on sale every couple of years. You get two batteries, a charger, and a drill for less that the batteries cost. Ridgid offers a lifetime warranty on batteries, but the drills don't seem as good.

I bought the DeWalt 18V Cordless Drill for my husband for a Christmas gift. He loves it! It packs so much power. We loved it so much that we bought one for his Dad. I do not use power tools myself but one day my Mom asked me to move her chair rail pull up bar. She said it needed to be higher up. My husband had screwed it into the wall to begin with (using the DeWalt) and I couldn't even budge it with a regular screwdriver. I told her I would bring the DeWalt drill over and that I was sure I could do it (it always looked so simple when my husband did it). I followed the directions my husband showed me and it was really simple. The only problem I had was making sure to apply enough pressure while unscrewing it. If I didn't, I found that I was drilling into the screw head. Once I got it going, it was really easy. I was able to move it and screw it back in all by myself. I own several Dewalt 18 volt products and all have been great. Only downside is that the batteries don't last a long time and the replacements are more expensive than other brands.

I purchased this drill kit about a year ago when I was doing some home improvements and I have been really happy with it. It costs a bit more than other drill kit on the market, but I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for. I love that this drill seems to last a very long time once it is fully charged. It has not lost any of that charge since I bought it either. The only issue I had is that it took a long time to fully charge before use. I am assuming that is why it took so long for the charge to run out. This kit came with all the necessary bits as well. The bits are very strong and haves lasted very well. I have broken or messed any of them up since I purchased the kit. I have noticed that weakening of bits can be an issue with some of the cheaper drill kits. The kit came with a case that I can keep everything in and that makes it very easy for me, because I am always losing bits. I would definitely purchase this kit again, if given the choice. I have recommended it to my own friends and family as well.

I bought this drill/ driver about 10 months ago. So far I have nothing bad to say about it other than it gets a little heavy if you use it for any great length of time. The drill came with 2 batteries and a real quick charger. It pretty much can make it through the day with the two batteries fully charged to start off. The drill has a lot of power. Ive used it to put together a cedar deck with no trouble. Ive hung hooks on our brick house also. That task was slightly cumbersome for the drill but it did get the job done. Another plus is you can buy extra batteries and chargers if needed. Its not like an off brand that come with all options and you cant add on or replace. The case is also made well and stands up to rough handling. Dewalt has been around forever and they are a reliable well thought of company what stands behind their product. If something goes wrong while under warranty they fix or replace it without a lot of hassles.

There's an LED light on the drill, which I especially like. You can work on many more projects with this light. The drill has a 1,700 RPM motor with dual range performance, as well as a 1/2 inch ratcheting chuck which helps prevent bit slippage. In layman's terms, this is a powerful drill. I was looking for a compact, powerful drill and that's what I got when I bought the DeWalt 18 volt 13mm Cordless Compact Drill and Driver Kit. I am a homeowner and needed a reliable drill that I could use for around the house.The rechargeable batter is great. I can just remove the battery pack off of the bottom of the drill and pop it into the battery charger and it's on its way to a full charge again. It only weighs a little under 5 pounds, which is great for when I'm doing jobs around the house that take some time or where I have to have the drill above head level for some time. My arm and hand never gets fatigued. I used to own a 9 volt drill, and this is surprisingly about the same size and weight, but obviously much more powerful. If you are looking for a dependable drill that you can use for every day jobs, this is definitely a great drill to purchase. I like to buy items that are made in the USA, and this drill is.

I own a property preservation company where I use home improvement tools on a daily basis to preserve houses. Often times I am required to install handrails and many other tasks that include using drills, but the homes most often do not have power. This tool is my best friend so I can charge it up at home, keep it on my truck, and not have to lug around a generator. The battery will fully charge within a few hours and even when using it for a few hours at a time the battery will last. I also like this drill because the battery will stay charged without losing power for a few days when not in use. I also love that you can buy and store more than one battery for backup situations. The handle makes it easy to hold in many different positions to get you the best angle of insertion. This drill is not too heavy either, so even though I am not extremely strong, I can hold it up while it is drilling for extended periods of time. I have used many cordless drills and this by far is the best model out there. If it ever breaks, I will be buying another one of these.
