I normal love Dawn and trying out their newest scents is always a fun experiment for me. When I saw the New Zealand Springs scent of their amazing Ultra Concentrated Dishwashing Liquid formula I had to give it a try. This does an amazing job with dishes, pots, and pans. It gets everything sparkling clean and leaves absolutely no residue or grease behind. Everything literally is squeaky clean. It gently but effectively washes everything from ceramic cookware to glasses equally well. What I was not overly impressed with was the scent. It found the scent almost reminded me of dryer sheets. Like a big box of wet dryer sheets. It was just not pleasant. In fact, I found it quite cloying and headache inducing. I did finish out the bottle but I didn't enjoy it and I would not purchase this particular scent again. If you are at all sensitive to scents this is not the Dawn soap for you.

We normally use an environmentally-friendly dish soap, but I grabbed a bottle of Dawn Ultra Concentrated Dishwashing Liquid - New Zealand Springs Scent before Christmas, because it was on sale and I knew we'd have lots of dirty dishes to be hand-washed. I've always been very happy with the effectiveness of Dawn products and this one was no exception. On the positive side, it did a great job getting greasy pots, baked-on pans and sticky glassware sparkling clean. On the negative side, I have to wear gloves when I wash dishes with it, because after a little while it starts to bother my sensitive skin, but that's true of many household cleaners. Our biggest problem with it was that we didn't like the "New Zealand Springs Scent" -- it was very strong and reminded us a bit of Irish Spring (and not of anything we'd experienced when visiting NZ!). This won't put me off using Dawn from time to time, but next time I'll make sure to see if I like the scent before I leave the store.

Dawn has always been my favorite dishwashing detergent. As there are only the 2 of us, we don't use a dishwasher, and do a sink of dishes once a day. As they sit it can make it harder for a detergent to work. I picked up the Dawn Ultra Concentrated Dishwashing Liquid in New Zealand Springs Scent for 49 cents. It was on sale for 99 cents, and I had a 50 cent coupon. The liquid is green, and has a fresh, outdoors type of smell to it. The size of the bottle is 266 ml (9 fluid ounce). When I am doing the dishes I will fill the sink with hot water, and squeeze some Dawn in it, while it is still running. The New Zealand Springs Scent works just as well as all the other Dawn detergents. The only difference is the smell, and this one is a winner for me. Dawn gets my dishes clean, and sometimes I have to soak pots, and pans, but Dawn is able to clean those too.
