Jenny Lind Crib~Never again

1

We received this crib as a baby shower gift for our first daughter.  It was not exactly the crib we had wanted, but it was a gift and, after all, a crib is a crib, right?   Putting the crib together was not difficult at all.  Only took about an hour and my husband was able to do it by himself.   Unfortunately from rolling it into the corner one of the little plastic pieces holding the drop-side railing in place snapped right off.  A few months later we found that these cribs had a major recall from that little plastic piece snapping off.  Fortunately the company was prompt in mailing us a whole new set of hardware to "fix" the recall issue.  At this point, though I no longer felt safe putting my daughter in this crib.   The spindles on the crib do not seem to be put on very well my daughter was able to shake the loose by the time she was about 10 months old. I do like that the mattress is adjustable, but other than that it does not seem to be a very good crib.

I really enjoyed this crib. It was not the most expensive and it was still very nice and pretty. Idefinatly would recommend this to others. It fit great in my daughters nursery and matched the other decor perfectly. I have it put up at this time because its stilll in perfect shape to be used again in the future.

Large, roomy crib for your child to grow with!

We purchased this crib for our daughter before she was born, based mainly on the name brand and the price.  It was very affordable!  I also liked that the crib was advertised as being able to convert to a toddler/youth bed at a later date.  The crib is well made, very sturdy and quite beautiful (we purchased the white finish).  It is also very large, so if you are looking for a smaller crib for a small room this may not be the best choice for you.  When our daughter was first born we lowered the side of the crib and used the mattress as a changing table.  It was just the right height, especially as I had had a c-section and was unable to bend very well.  Our daughter slept in a bassinet beside our bed until she was nearly six months old, at which point we moved her to the crib.  She slept fine in it until she was almost one year old.  At that point she had trouble sleeping and grew to actually dislike the crib.  I don't think this had to do with the crib itself though, just a developmental stage. My only "complaint" about this crib is the claim that it can be converted to a toddler bed.  You can remove one side rail, lower the mattress to the lowest level and you supposedly have a toddler bed.  However, the lowest level is still pretty high for a small child and there is no way to attach a rail to keep the child from falling out of bed, unlike other beds.  Also, this crib may be too "roomy" for some babies who are used to a snug bassinet. All in all though it's a good brand and I plan to use the crib for our next child and maybe even grandchildren!
