My husband can finally enjoy espresso at home!

5

For a long time we couldn't find an affordable grinder to make espresso until this Cuisinart became available. We've had it for 2 years and we've found more uses for grinding than just coffee beans! You can use this to grind anything oily, including flax seed. The grind is fine enough for espresso and large enough for coffee.

Good Grind, Grind Good

I received this coffee grinder as a Christmas present in 2006. It has worked flawlessly for the last year. The grind is consistent. I use it for every cup of coffee. I have some trouble adjusting the serving size, as it is a rather coarse adjustment. It is very loud, you should warn others when you are going to use it (if anyone else is awake:). Highly recommend.

I'd buy another one just like it

Works great.  It's easy to change the fineness of the grind.  It can be set for any number of cups so I don't have to count scoops before I've had the first cup of coffee to help me remember which scoop I'm on.  It is hard to dump out the last few beans when changing bean types, annd sort of a pain the scrape the grind off the sides to get it all each time (I grind really fine) and it is can be hard for the older eyes to tell how many cups it was set to if someone else moved it, but it isn't any worse than any other product on the market.  Just things I'd change for the "new" design that SHOULD be coming out.

The Cuisinart Coffee Mill is a decent mid-range burr grinder

People who enjoy brewing their own coffee to particular tastes and specifications will likely find fairly good value in the Cuisinart Automatic Burr Mill.  Unlike many burr mills, it is reasonably priced and does a good job, with a few drawbacks.  Burr mills are superior to bladed mills because they provide an even grind over the whole batch of coffee and can often process more at a time.  The Cuisinart Burr mill allows you to adjust the coarseness of the grind between a fairly large grind (suitable for french press coffee) all the way down to extra fine (suitable for espresso).  It can grind up to 16 servings of coffee at a time, which is a definite advantage. The settings are simple and the holder on the top is ample for several grinds.  Simply adjust your coarseness, set how many servings you wish and press the button.  Only after this will you see the Cuisinart's down-side--the burr mill generates a fair bit of static electricity, so you often have little bits of coffee grounds stubbornly adhering all over the sides of the mill.  Since the collection container is also plastic, this can make the coffee tricky to get out without making a pretty big mess.  Overall, the mill is value priced, works well and is simple to use--it is a good introductory burr mill.

Does the job but doesn't grind evenly

I've had this burr grinder for about 4 years now and use it every day. It looks cool/modern in the kitchen, isn't annoying loud and keeps the grinds well contained. I coarse grind when I want to French press, medium grind when I make drip. Overall the grinder has worked well and the grind has been fairly consitent but I've been noticing more unevenly ground coffee over the past few months. Not sure what the problem is. The grinder is basically idiot-proof...one slider, one button, easy to pop out canister. My 4 year old daughter can grind my beans for me in the morning. The coffee does have a tendency to stick to the plastic container due to the fine scratches that accumulate from normal wasing. I wish it was metal or tempered glass instead as I don't like the idea of throwing this plastic one in the dishwasher. I'll probably end up trying a different grinder when this one gives up the ghost.

Not the best, but good value

For those starting their lifeling trek into the aspect of coffee, a burr grinder is a must. More expensive than a mill grinder, burr grinders supposedly result in more even grind and a better, more robust flavor of coffee. Enter Cuisinart. This burr grinder is a great value for a burr grinder. It outperforms other, more expensive coffee grinders, and does this day in and day out. However, there are a couple flaws in the design, which Cuisinart has refused to address. Dust: Tons and tons of coffee dust gets made with this grinder. Worse still is that it accumulates into the plastic resevoir. The static produced from the plastic keeps all the dust sticking to the sides of the cup. This means that you have to knock the plastic cup over whatever you are using to make coffee, causing excess dust to go EVERYWHERE. In addition, if you use a french press, be prepared for a good amount of sludge at the bottom of your cup due to this fine fine dust.

Smell the Difference with the Cuisinart Supreme Grind Burr Mill

Buying coffee off the store shelf seemed the norm to me until I got a great deal on a little coffee grinder.  It opened my mind to a better cup of coffee.  When I found the Cuisinart Supreme I'd since learned that a burr grinder was better, but didn't know how much better.  I bought the Cuisinart Supreme Automatic Burr Mill grinder and used my usual coffee beans, and wow, those beans were so much better.  I especially like that I can control the size of the grind, from ultra fine to a heavier grind. It took a bit of experimenting to find the grind I like best and what works best with my drip coffee maker.  I also love that I can set it to the amount I need, no more, no less. It has settings marked 4, 8, 12 and 18 but with markings for anything in between.  I have set it for one even.  Once you have it set you can leave it there unless having company or needing more.  Having owned this for a couple years now, with at least once a day use it is still going strong, no pun intended.  Now I always have to see what coffee beans are offered, where they are from, imagine the wonderful smell as I grind them in my Cuisinart Burr Mill grinder.

Must have for coffee lover

Cuisinart Supreme Grind CCM-16PC Electric Grinder is a must have for coffee lovers.  It's so stylish and easy to use.  You can adjust the grinder to grind your coffee beans as ultra fine as powder (ultra fine coffee grinds contribute to bitter taste), or as coarse as you like for weaker coffee taste.  The grind selector has 18 different grinding setting, and I usually set it a bit less than medium coarse for the most delicious taste coffee favor.  This Grinder can also store your coffee beans in its airtight upper container until you want to grind the coffee beans, or you can grind for a couple days of worth and keep it in it's lower storage container.  You can also choose the among of time you want the grinder to grind your coffee and you can easily stop it anytime you want it to stop.  Although it's a bit noisy, but it's the same noise level as most other grinders.  I also love the little coffee scoop that comes with the grinder, it's perfect to measure the among of coffee that you want to brew, and the brush on the other end is super useful to clean the coffee grounds from the grinder.
