So at the time that I purchased the Cuisinart Smooth Operator SMO-56-2 Speed Blender it was on sale and I thought I got a pretty good deal. The smoothies and protein shakes (the main reason I wanted to purchase a blender) came out good as long as I didn't use to much frozen stuff; maybe 1 or 2 ice cubes or frozen fruit; and even then it was a bit granulated. So my recommendation would be to stick with chilled liquids if you want a cold smoothie or something. As far as overall usage, I would say it lasted me a few months with varied usage. Probably used it 4 - 5 days a week for the first 2 weeks and then once a month for a while until I couldn't. Gradually it operated so vigorously that some of the plastic parts came off, which also made it louder (sorry to my sleep in neighbors) and there was some leaking. After that never really worked right and couldn't/ didn't want to use it because it got kind of gross from all the rushed cleanings.

I love this blender! It does everything I need it to! It crushes whole ice cubes in a matter of minutes! And, when i'm blending up smothies, it makes them perfectly, and smooth! This blender is perfect for anyone who needs somehting that will blend anything from smothies, to ice cubes, and so much more! I recommend this blender to everyone! Its perfect!

I am very pleased with this product. Its not one of those blenders that only does right for a month and blows up. It really makes good smoothies and drinks. I use it to mince veggies too. At times it can be somewhat laggy but i havent had a blender that doesnt occasionally do that. It looks great with stainless steel appliances and fits a very modern kitchen. The best gift on my kitchen registry.

The machine is extremely loud, it doesn't do a great job of choping ice, frozen strawberries or frozen bananas. In fact, mine just shredded the plastic base blades becasue evidently the banana was too hard. Blending Power it doesn't liquify everything very well Versatility only use for smoothies because of the pour spout on it's base Ease of Cleaning too many removable parts that need to be cleaned Design plastic and hard frozen items don't work well together Durability Mine just broke

We used to have this blender but eventually traded it in for a better one - the vitamix. The blender itself is okay, but doesnt seem as high quality as a vitamix. The appearance is pretty nice though, and it does seem to have pretty good power to it.

We bought this new blender a month ago and I would definately recommend to anyone looking for a new one. The price was a bit high but the performance is great. We do alot of entertaining and for drinks with ice this one works so well that you dont have to continuously move the ice to be slushy. I love the style.
