This review is for the TOB 175-BC Toaster Oven. We have been impressed by the functionality of this unit since buying it four months ago. Sure, there are one or two things which could be better, but overall what you want is for it to toast and bake, and these it does perhaps better than any other. The oven area is large...big enough to hold a 9 inch pie plate, according to Cuisinart. To bake you select the temp and press Start, and it begins to preheat. Once it reaches your desired temp, it beeps and displays "temp ready". We have found the temperature to be more accurate than in previously owned units. There is also a Convection feature which is said to reduce baking time, but we have not tried it yet. There is a timer function which changes the temp display to a countdown timer reminiscent of your microwave. You can set the timer and it will beep when the time runs out, but it WILL NOT turn off the oven. It merely alerts you. Some have complained about this, but I find it normal, just like my real oven! This allows you to use the timer to remind you to, say, add an ingredient, or turn something, or whatever, without shutting down the oven. C'mon folks - this is NOT a microwave, after all. The Toaster is absolutely wonderful! You basically tell it how dark you want your toast, whether or not it is frozen, and if it is a bagel, and then it calculates the time needed for perfectly toasted bread. Crisp on the outside and moist in the middle, just the way I love it! And then - if you want seconds - it will reduce the toasting time based on the current temperature of the inside of the unit. A smart toaster! Note: We have had a few mishaps where the top was more toasted than the bottom of the bread, but this is a rare occurrence and seems to be related to multiple consecutive uses. To us, it's is a small price to pay for the generally top quality toast that we get from this thing. Negatives? Sure, there are a couple: 1. The door design prevents you from cleaning along the bottom of the door. You just can't get anything in there to clean it. 2. The crumb tray is only accessible from the back, so you have to unplug and move the unit every time you want to clean it out. And, 3. The beep volume is pretty loud on the timer. This is a positive (you can hear it almost anywhere in the house), but also a negative (it is just loud enough to be annoying and always beeps 5 times). But on the whole, We LOVE it!!

I purchased this because I hated my traditional toaster. This toaster oven allows me to not only toast items but I can cook also. I can choose to cook the traditional way or I can cook convention style. I use mine each and every day.I use it to cook pizzas, fishsticks, chicken nuggets and other things I would have normally put in my traditional oven. During the summer months this toaster saves my kitchen from getting so hot. The only con I can think of is when reheating rolls the tops sometimes burn. I have put my traditional toaster in the items to give away. The ease of cleaning this toaster is a plus for me. All you have to do is turn the toaster around and pull out the tray in the bottom. I don't think I will ever go back to a regular toaster again.

The Cuisinart TOB-175BC Convection Toaster Oven/Broiler is the msot incredible Toaster Oven EVER.  It is by far the most used appliance in my kitchen.  If you want to save time & energy, try this product.  It cuts cooking time in half!  A frozen dinner roll is ready in 3 minutes.  A 12" frozen pizza is ready in 8 minutes.  Stale crackers and cookies are given new life in 5 minutes.  Totally awesome and I have recommended it to all of my friends!  Every kitchen should have one.

My husband and I purchased this oven about 2 years ago. Our two children had moved out to attend college and we no longer needed to cook larger amounts of food. We bought this product mainly because of the convection oven feature. We felt that the size of the oven would be perfect to bake meals for just us two. Secondly, it also could be used as a toaster. Features included a brushed chrome exterior, easy to clean interior,0.6 cubic foot capacity, functions: toast,bake,broil and convection,touchpad controls,exact heat:sensors maintains exact oven temperature,4-6 slice toasting button,bagel button,reheat and defrost buttons, and a clock and timer. The only feature that has disappointed is the timer. It is just a timer. It does not automatically shut off. After two years of using this oven, I can say that it has been as useful as we had hoped. Oddly enough, we have not used the convection feature as much as we had planned. The time we did, we baked a full size chicken and it worked as well as our oven would have, had plenty of room, and was alot more economical than using the oven That said, it is more efficient, using less energy, and great for couples. We use the toasting feature the most. Perfect for 1-6 slices of bread. Bagel button browns perfectly.  Have tried biscuits and worked well. This toaster will also reheat and defrost , but have never used. All in all, it has been reliable,and works very well for us!
