Walk away
My Craftsman Garage Door Opener was a bit frustrating at first. I loved the look of it, the color and general design but my decision to purchase it was more the result of the clerk explaining how easy it was to set up. Once it was home and out of it's packaging, it seemed easy enough. The garage door opener was easy to set up. The remote however not so cut and dry. The first thing that needs to be done is you need to gain access to the program button by way of safety pin or paper clip. It needs to be poked until you see the colored LED light on the front light up. After that there is another button on the garage door opener that needs to be pressed as well. The light bulb on the opener should flash, if it doesn't, wait a moment, re-press the button on the opener until the bulb flashes. After tat, the opener should function. If it doesn't function - which was my case - don't return it right away before trying to move different distances away from the opener. I went back and fourth about 8 good times before The light would blink and ten had to reposition myself another 5 or 6 times before I finally got it. After that there was about a week I spent working with it to get it to function every time rather than being random. After that, I have not had an issue with it since.
