Convenient.

I find this useful when I am going out for the day and do my hair in very simple styles (curled hair with flat iron or straightened). I have used it at a friend's party and at the mall. All you have to do is find an outlet. It even fits into my little clutch bag! Most of the time I do not bring the pouch, as I don't find it necessary. It's very small and light. It can fix baby hairs that stick up throughout the day. However, it does not work if you are straightening your whole head. You will end up with bumps and waves. It is not strong enough for that. It also tends to tug on your scalp when you get towards the ends of your hair. If I do not use a heat protectant, it leaves an odd smell. It is not burnt hair, but it smells kind of like melted plastic. It is not that bad and does not last more than a minute or so. Effectiveness Very good if you are in a pinch to fix something, like at a party, school, work etc. I can carry it in my handbag at all times. It is very light and does not add much weight. It does not work on large portions of hair, though. Durability It has lasted me four years now.

Worthless piece of garbage

I used this product twice after purchasing it at Bed, Bath and Beyond, and now it won't turn on. The two times I did use it, it didn't work very well. Do yourself a favor and spend your money on a different product. Effectiveness I have short hair and this did not do anything for me Durability Broke after two uses - enough said

Mini Mightiness!

my bangs do this weird thing where they curve to the left, and i finally decided i didn't like it that way anymore. i travel a lot, and i wanted to find a flat iron that would be easy to tote around, but at the same time, i still wanted it to work. i stumbled across the Conair 1/2" Mini Flat Iron at Bed Bath & Beyond and decided to give it a go. people, it's awesome!! it came with it's own little heat-proof pouch and it really does heat up in 30 seconds. my routine is to plug it in, switch it on, and while it heats up, i put on my eyeliner primer. by the time that's done, i actually turn the iron off because it gets really hot. i take out the rest of my makeup, but before putting it on, i go back to the flat iron, which has had a few seconds to cool down, and then i straighten my bangs. this mighty little wonder is fantastic! it's great for bangs and quick touch-ups, but because it's so small, if you've got to straighten large sections, i'd go with a bigger iron. but for little sections, it's great!

Awesome Flat Iron for the size

5

The Conair Mini half inch Hair Straightening Flat Iron is an awesome flat iron for the size. I have shorter hair that is hard to straighten with the larger two inch flat iron I bought when my hair was longer. The Conair half inch flat iron also works well as a travel flat iron. Is comes with a handy travel case and is small enough to pack in carry on luggage for flights - a must for me since I do not check a bag when I travel. It heats up quickly, in about thirty seconds and also cools down fairly quickly to be stored for fast travel. While it is not designed for this, I also use it for quick de-wrinkling of my slacks at the hem. It saves me from getting out the iron and ironing board, which may not be available when I travel, and does the job quickly. Because of the half inch plates, it does take longer to do my hair since I have to do it in smaller sections. I highly recommend this as a travel flat iron for those who travel often.

The Conair Mini flat iron is great if you are looking to go bald

I picked this one up because I wasn't sure if I'd even like using a flat iron.  My stylist had used one on me and I liked the results she got but you know how that goes. It was also the smallest surface I could find at the store I was at and since my hair is rather short I thought that would be better. I love the results I get.  Picking a smaller surface was definately the way to go with my short hair.  What I don't love is the fact that every time I use it, it pulls hair out.  It doesn't matter if I do large or small sections.  There is a small space between the plates and the body of the iron that hair gets stuck in.  As soon as I can afford a better one I'm moving up.  On the other hand, I love the case that came with it.  It's lined with a material that allows you to put the hot iron right in the bag which is very handy when on the go.  The 30 second heat up also rocks.

Great on the go!

I have curly hair, so when I decided to get bangs I knew I would need a good straightening iron.  My bigger iron was too hard to handle near my face and I ended up burning myself several times, so my mom bought me the Conair mini straightener and I love it.  It really does heat up within thirty seconds (unlike some other irons that only say they do) and applies the perfect amount of heat to straighten but not fry hair.  The tiny size makes it easy to use on bangs and easy to tote around too.  I also love the heat resistant carry case and its darling design. The only con I can think of is that it's hard to get the cord wrapped up enough to fit back into the carry case, which is hardly an issue.   Some people may think it's too basic and would prefer more heat settings but it has worked perfectly as it is for me.  It's also only useful for small projects, not for straightening a lot of hair. I highly recommend the Conair Mini 1/2" Hair Straightener Flat Iron!

Small, cute, and effective

I recieved these as a gift and was pleasantly surprised. They are small which makes them easy to take along with you on a trip and easy to store at home. They also came with a heat resistant bag so that you can take them with you or store them away from children while they are still hot. They heat up in about 1 minute, which is good if you're in a hurry. They are great for getting to the roots of your hair in between chemical straighteners or to replace them all together. What I don't like is that since they're so small they don't reall work well on thicker, longer hair and sometimes you have to use them rather slowly to ensure that the hair gets straightened. I also don't like the fact that there is only one heat setting. It gets pretty hot but I think it would have been better if there were at least 3 preset heat settings to pick from. I'd recommend it becasue it is a nice tool to have around and once you get used to it its a breeze to use on a daily basis.

Small yet powerful

I recently bought this hair straightener, and I already love it. It heats up in 30 seconds or even less as it claims. It does take a little longer for me to straighten with this product compared to other because it is smaller, but I think it does a great job. This straightener is certainly small yet powerful. It also comes with a cute little heat resistant bag to put it in when you are done. It is a great straightener to take with you anywhere you go. I do kind of wish there were heat settings on this product because my hair sometimes ends up getting too hot to hold with the constant high heat. I noticed it can sometimes pull on the tips of my hair when straightening if I don't have enough in the strand, but it is not really painful. I have tried a couple of other straighteners in the past and I actually have two others, but so far after owning this product I have not used my other straighteners at all.
