Okay, first off, kudos to their mothership, HP... I had received this in not so timely of a manner, but it was a replacement to my HP laptop purchased quite a few years ago, and this was their choice to send back 3 months after they received the defective laptop. Saying kudos is not sarcastic as my other laptop did work, when it wanted to, but it was quite old and HP still took care of owning up to issues. Now, for my Compaq, I have found it hard to believe that no one has mentioned in the reviews I've meandered over is that it does NOT have a card reader. I do a lot of photos and videos and this is a main drawback of this lil gem. I don't know how few laptops that don't have the feature. I can still plug into one of the two usb ports, but that is tedious. It does have a decent processor and a lot more room than it's predecessor, but transfer is definitely a little more difficult. As for price, I did look around, and this laptop is very cheap in comparison to what some of the others with the same space and processor speed had at the time it came out. But, technology will always evolve and I am happy with it for the time being. I rarely have issues with speed of the computer and it does offer a lot of space. Now, battery, don't really agree with the others here either, mine is and has been rather short lived, but I keep it plugged it. I bought an optical mouse and really, that is also necessary. No separation in the bar and hard press on the touchpad is difficult to even double tap on. Again, I give it a 3 because it is mediocre. My kids don't require as much screen and space as I do, so they will probably inherit this one soon!
