Small battery powered flashlights are a necessity if you live in an area that has summer storms, strong winds or winter outages. Coleman has several AA and AAA powered flashlights but you need to know the specifics of them before you invest in one. Even though this one is not waterproof it throws a strong light path. The body of it has a deep texturing to it so even if you are wearing gloves or your hands are wet, you will be able to keep a strong grip on it. The three AAA batteries are snapped into a plastic base; that makes it easier to change the batteries and reinsert the battery pack back into the flashlight. This would be a great pick for kids if they want a flashlight for camping or hiking but there's no auto-off mode so if they fall asleep with it on chances are the batteries are going to be dead in the morning.

These flashlights are among the brightest and yet most efficient in that they can run on one set of batteries for 6 months and longer. AAA batteries are inexpensive and easy to get, too. I keep several of these flashlights in the house, one in each room, for use during power outages, and they illuminate in a bright tight beam very well. I also use them for close work with my computer repair and maintenance when I need a concentrated light to see where to place connectors or to read small letters. Very useful and compact design makes it portable, too. I carry one in my purse and it works great when I need to look at something like a tire gauge in the dark. I find them very durable and they make nice gifts. The ones I have are now 6 years old and those I gave as gifts are even older and all still in active service. I dropped one once, but it still works just fine, too. This brand costs somewhat more than many others, but the quality wins out, making it worth it for a product that lasts.

I currently have the Coleman LED Flashlight in my house for use. This flashlight is good for blackouts and dark areas that you need access too. The positive points on this flashlight is that it is light weight for anyone to use, it is very easy to operate, and convenient to have in your house or anywhere that you might need for an emergency. The negative points about this flashlight is that the battery time is too short, the batteries become very dull in a short about time, and you have to keep buying batteries and replacing them every so often. The quality of the light power that comes from this flashlight is decent, but not great. It could be much brighter for on pitch dark areas, for when needed. Also sometimes the light flickers on and off, and you have to keep tapping the flashlight to keep making it shine consistently without going in and out all the time.

This is the brightness little flashlight around. I recently was helping take some ladies on a trip which would involve getting in and out at night. Afraid someone would fall I went and bought several of these little flashlights. They are absolutely the brightest light you can imagine. The LED puts out light without a glare and seems to cast a wider path of light. I don't know if the flashlights come in colors but it would have been nice if they had. As it happens we all had black but they certainly did work well. The ladies even used them at the concert we attended when on the last song they turned down the house lights and they ask people to flash their lights. The ladies were excited and pleased when I gave them the flashlights to keep. I have used mine for several months now and the batteries are still going strong. These would make great stocking stuffers. and the perfect size and brightness for children to use while out Trick or Treating .
