Fun for an inexpensive gift idea

4

I love pictures. I take hundreds every month and document everything. With so many pictures, the best way I've found to display them is through digital photo frames, so a digital photo keychain is a fun compliment to that concept! I wasn't expecting much when I received this as a gift, so I was pleasantly surprised at the novelty of the item and how well it worked. The clarity of the pictures isn't the best and you have to remember that they are TINY, but overall, this is a fun way to have a constant reminder with you (or to show off) some of your fun memories. You just have to remember to be gentle with your keys if you are used to flinging them around like I am. Display Quality It is a tiny screen on an inexpensive product. Don't expect pristine clarity and quality. Remember those key chains you'd get that had your kid's school pictures on it but pretty tiny? That is about what you get with this keychain. PIctures are tiny but decent. Ease of Use It was fairly easy to plug into your computer to transfer images. Design It is a keychain, so I understand why the picture needs to be small, but I do think they could have designed it so the picture was slightly larger and easier to see.

No photos in my digital keychain photo frame

I thought it would be great fun to carry some photos of my children on my keychain. Often someone says, "Oh you have children can I see some pictures?"  I have a few on my [cell phone][1] but sometimes they are hard to see.  So, I got the **Colby 1.5 inch digital keychain photo frame.**  ***What I like about the Colby 1.5 inch digital keychain photo frame:*** - small - handy - good picture - nice idea  - comes with cable/cord ***What I don't like about the Colby 1.5 inch digital keychain photo frame*:**  - can't get the photo viewer to find my photos - can't upload photos from PC to key chain  Now, I am pretty handy when it comes to technology. I have tried all the things listed in the** Colby 1.5 inch digital keychain photo frame** manual and I just can't get the photo viewer (the system that allows you to transfer the photos from your PC to the key chain) to work correctly. It does not find or recognize any of my photos.  I tried it from downloaded pictures, my pictures, and even from a CD. Ease of Use Since I can't get my photos to load then there either is something wrong with the use or the directions, because I'm sort of tech inclined. Design I like the small size and the key chain.

Pull out the magnifying glass, you will need it.

Someone gave me a Coby Digital Keychain last year for Christmas, and because I am always taking photo's, I though I would love this. I got it home, and I did notice that the screen was very small, but hey, it was a gift and I had never gotten a digital keychain before. I followed the directions of how to set everything up to be able to download pictcures to this amazing gift I had gotten. The set up in my opinion was a hassle, and the transfers were so slow, that I almost gave up a couple times. Finally, I had photo's on this great new toy of mine, except, I couldnt see them. Unless they are face photo's, the kind everyone avoids, you wont be able to make out who is in the photo. It holds 60 pictures, and if I could see them it would be great, but without the help of a magnifying glass, that is pretty much impossible. I still carry the keychain, for fear that the person who gave it to me will see me without it. I carry it for that reason alone, not because its a great digital keychain. My neice on the other hand loves it, she is 4, my daughter bought her one for a Christmas present this year,( very inexpensive I also found out) and loaded it up with face pictures of all the Disney princesses, she will love it.

Good with the right PC

This is the second photo keychain I have purchased.  I could not get it to work on my home computer with Windows XP, however, I just tried it on another PC with Windows XP and it worked great!  The software popped up quickly and it was self-explanatory.  The quality of the photos isn't the best, but it will certainly do for its purpose.  My only guess is we have firewall/security software at home prohibiting it to work correctly--but I am no computer guru.  Good product.

Seems like a good idea, but really isn't

The price on this little keychain is nice, and I loved the idea of having a keychain full of photos to give my husband for Fathers Day. In practice, it was far less exciting.  We found the software for loading pictures onto the keychain to be hard to use and buggy.  Once on there, the images looked awful, they were tiny and grainy, not worth the effort involved in putting them onto the keychain.  My husband said he would not bother taking the keychain out to show his friends and workmates, because he image was so bad.  The screen seems very delicate, in fact the entire keychain does not seem like it can stand up to the wear and tear it would get banging around on the end of someone's keys every day.  It would been to be much more durably made, encased in something relatively shock proof, to be practical as a keychain.  It's much more of an ornamental piece than a functional keychain -  and as an ornamental piece, the image quality is just not there.

I bought this keychain as part of a Mother's Day present for my mom and then I got one from my mom for me for Mother's Day as well. It is such a fabulous idea. You can put pictures on it, then have pictures of the kids and grandkids, right at your hand, just ready to show off. No need to print out pics, and carry them in your wallet any more! As I recall, it did not come with a USB cable, so you need one of those. Transferring was pretty easy, once the computer recognizes the new hardware, it goes smoothly. The main draw back for both my mother and I, was the size. It is designed to go on your keychain and even though it is only 1.5" it is still 1.5"! It is fairly large, heavy and bulky. So carrying it on the keys is a bit of a pain. It is best to just hook it onto your purse. It also has neat features where you can put the pictures on a slideshow and just scroll through. It also charges while you have the USB hooked up.

I love this product cause it makes me remember my past time by looking at the photo. However, I wish it could be larger and sharper to see it clearer. Additionally, its cost is still kind of costly. If its cost were cheaper, I would buy more to give to my friends
