I got lucky and found this at a pawn shop for 50 bucks after getting a ticket. I was also cited for window tint wich is why i decided to get a radar detector I was very nice to the officer and he still was a jerk, but anyways I really like this detector it picks up police officers from great distances if they have NOTE>>radar on. Since I have had this for some reason I tend to drive slower maybe its the ticket I got or maybe this makes me more aware of whats really around me, but anyways buy this it rocks for the price

this cobra electronics xrs 9945 radar detector is a must have for anyone and everyone that travels for work or for leisure. i have no problems going over the speed limit as long as i have my cobra radar detector. on several trips i have taken, this cobra radar detector has allerted me to an accident or if there was a police officer waiting around a curve. this radar detector even detects the mph readers on road signs and usually it will detect them from about 1500 feet away. the large screen is a touch screen and is somewhat not needed but adds a nice addition an already terrific unit. a gps can be purchased for this unit but i didnt see the point in buying it since most of my miles are logged in a city. one of my favorite features is the ability to turn the alert off when under a certain rpm. it helps when stopping at a red light and you are beside a bank or a gas station. i recommend this to everyone

I don't own a race car, but sometimes I do exceed the speed limit in my Nissan Pathfinder.  Especially on the highways and in other states, I want to reduce the chance of getting a ticket without having to actively search in my mirrors for cops.  This device is supposedly able to detect radar from a cop's speed gun.  So far, when it goes off of the high way I always slow down and usually see a police car behind me or hiding off to the same.  That said, there are also a high number of false alarms in the city and near stores (which maybe use similar systems for other purposes which also set off these alarms).  Make sure these radar detectors are legal in your state, because they are illegal in many states (and canada I think).  Just unplug it if you're going to drive through those states.  The sounds that this unit makes are not too distracting, but just enough to get your attention when it is required.

the Cobra Electronics XRS-9945 Radar Detector looks awesome the features looks really cool and that is one of the main reasons why i purchased this radar detector. But don't be fooled by the awesome look, this radar dectector is just ok. The reason I bought it was because I  always have to rush in and out of work and school and I am just a student living on a budget so I really could not afford to get a ticket so I bought this because besides looking pretty cool the price was decent at that time that i needed it but so far its done and ok job. you need to manke sure to read all the proper manual and instructions before using this. The Cobra Electronics XRS-9945 Radar Detector is a handy gadget for people that have had trouble in the past with getting tickets and speeding but for me I guess its just another safety precaution. The cobra is very handy and portable so I guess its not bad if you are sharing it in the family but for me I don't really use it as much as I think I would

about 18 month ago i replaced my old detector with this cobra electronic xrs 9945 radar detector. i am a simi driver so these come in handy. we are not suppose to have them but your not suppose to speed either. this is a good detector but, its like almost any other.if the policeman is sitting still ,the laser only picks up when he shots you. laser is undetectable on all detectors untill it hits you. i have to say that my detector has saved me many times  so i think it was worth the money.

I travel regularly and also have a lead foot! I was very willing to pay top follar for the security of being forewarned of a police afficer taking radar in the area. Well, don't waste your effort or money to live in this dream because this radar detector in fact does not pick up on the radars being taken in the area and you will get a ticket. After 2 tiskets I returned this radar detector for a prompt refund!

in this day in age we all need to get somewhere whether it be for work, or for fun, and we need to get their safe and sound, and not to mention fast. That is why I am going to reccomend to  all of you guys and girls the Cobra Electronics XRS-9945 radar detector. I know some of you speed demons out their need some extra security and this fine product will leave you singing and smiling all the way to the bank. Now I am not condoning speeding or any thing like that, i am reviewing a product and this particular brand of radar detector, will keep your foot firmly on the gas peddel. There are other brand out there but this one is the one that works for sure, tried and true. Lets face it those speeding tickets are not getting any cheeper, I mean some of them amount to a hole weeks pay in some circumstances, we all have other things we would like to do and enjoy with our hard earned money, than pay someones salery with a speeding ticket.

This thing is great great great, it has excellent range and identifies most of the radar and anti radr types out there, although its not intellegent to speed or drive recklessly this is deffinettly the thing that will make ya do it, easy to use, the mount works great and the sound quality is nice as well

This product is great for areas where a police officer may be sitting and clocking cars. It will keep you safe from being pulled over by them. However, it will not protect you form police cars that have the radar guns installed in their cars. These don't send out a constant signal for which to detect. They may be turned on at any given time; such as, if the officer is behind you, or passes you going the opposite direction. So you must still be aware of your surroundings. The best way to avoid a ticket is to not speed. Also you could buy one of the donation stickers from your local law enforcement agency that says that you donate to, or support said agency. In doing so the officer will be more likely to give you a break. It will however work great on unattended radar boxes on the roadways that take a picture of vehicles that are speeding. So if you use roadways that often have said boxes, then it is a safe investment.
