I got this company's information from an article written by the Today Show. I assumed it would be pretty legit. I will say this company was very easy to work with, as I have a difficult astigmatism. My glasses came faster than I even anticipated, and work perfectly. However, there is up charge after up charge to get a quality product. IE. polycarbonate lenses. The biggest bummer was the $30 bill I got separately from FEDEX for Duties, Customs, and Other Fees, as well as Brokerage Ancillary Service Fees. I will admit I don't always read the fine print, but making my $127 order now $157.10 didn't make me very happy. Not sure why they can't bundle this into the actual cost of the glasses. I live in the US and the company is in Canada. I didn't realize that and I didn't realize I would get another bill 10 days after my order arrived, put a sour taste in my mouth about the company. Otherwise, great product with lots of options. Just be cautious of what I consider to be hidden fees.

I have been over paying for glasses for years. I found that coastal.com provided a promo for free frames and I had to just pay the $14.95. I was a little worried at first not being able to try them on prior to purchasing and not being able to see the quality of the frame. I was very impressed how the website says which type of face it should be for, gave me an idea of what I may like. When I ordered I received my glasses in a good amount of time, probably faster than if I had ordered from my eye doctors office. The quality of the frames were good if not better than what I would have got for that price in the office. From now on I am getting a script of what my lens need to be and getting them on this website. They are fast, good quality frames. Ease of Use Very easy to use and navigate and find what you are looking for. Product Selection I think the website had more frames to offer than my eye doctors did. They good quality as well. Nothing cheap or flimsy. Product Pricing Compared to what you pay at a doctors office I find the pricing to be reasonable. They also allow your first frame to be free and you just pay shipping which is a great deal. Customer Service I found that it is easy to contact someone and they get back to you in a reasonable time. Shipping and Returns I never had to return anything but I felt like the shipping prices were just about arrive with any other item that you would be ordering online. For $15 I got good decent amount of time with the shipping. They were packaged well ad I had no fear that they would come in pieces broken.

The lenses weren't a bad price for a strong prescription, and I have been very pleased with what I got. I will definitely consider using this site again in the future. Product Selection I like glasses with no frame on the bottom, because they are less distracting to me, and they only had a few options for these. But they do have a pretty good selection overall. Product Pricing These frames are more expensive than Walmart, but they are designer glasses, and they are a better quality that feels like they will last a long time. So if you want the absolute cheapest, then this isn't the place for you. But if you don't mind spending a little bit more money, then these will provide great value for the money. Shipping and Returns The site offers free shipping with no minimum purchase, which is the best option that you will fine. They came in a few days, even though the lenses needed to be cut before they could be sent.

I was recently in the market for some new prescription sunglasses. I signed up for the emails at Coastal.com and was receiving lots of offers in my inbox for great deals on sunglasses, but then as you go along in the process, it seems like the deals aren't so great at all. Right now, for example, there is a deal for $49 glasses. So, I picked out a frame, entered my prescription, got them into my cart, and the total is now $88. It seems like they lead you to believe that the glasses or sunglasses will be one price, take you all the way to the end of the process, then jack up the price by making you pay for a bunch of extras. Granted, these prices are still lower than what you would usually be paying at your regular eye doctor, but I just find it a bit deceiving when they advertise $49 glasses that will cost you almost $90. I do think they have a huge selection of really nice merchandise. But, I don't think I will ever purchase from here just because I think the pricing is a little questionable.

Last year I took advantage of coastal.com's promo whereby your first pair of glasses are free. I had always been quite skeptical of purchasing glasses online, mainly because I like to try on my glasses in person to see how they look and feel. Buying glasses is a very personal experience. However, given Coastal's promotion campaign offering me my first pair of glasses for free (I just had to paid shipping and handling), I was willing to give them a shot. The first thing I was impressed with is the wide range of glasses. They had so many glasses to choose from, literally hundreds. I like the interface of the website and that I can upload my own photo and virtually try on my glasses. No, it is not perfect, but it does give you a pretty good idea as to how the glasses will look and if they will suit/frame your face. Checkout was easy enough. I entered in my prescription, selected the frames and my order was complete. My glasses were shipped out within four days of placing my order and I received them not long after. I was very impressed with the turn around time. I could not have been any happier with my purchase. As an added bonus, I actually received the UV, anti-glare and scratch resistant coatings for free. I couldn't wait to try them on. When I did so, I was thrilled. The glasses I chose fit me great. They look fantastic and have been highly durable. Much to my surprise they really are of high quality. I was concerned that they were going to be cheap. I was very wrong about this. They most definitely are not cheap. They actually look and feel more expensive than glasses I paid four times as much for. I always get comments about these glasses and I make sure to tell them where I purchased them from. I am so glad that I took the chance and ordered from Coastal. I will most certainly be a repeat customer.

I took advantage of their free glasses offer two years ago. Well, they are not actually free. The basic ones are free, but if you want to add the premium coating bundle: anti-reflective, UV-protection and scratch-resistant, it will cost you $39.95. To that, you add shipping charges and you will get a nice pair of glasses with trendy frames for under $100. You can't get prescription glasses for this price in stores. Trust me, I tried. It's hard to find decent frames under $100. Keep in mind that you have to know your pupillary distance. There are ways to measure it at home, but I didn't get it right. So I ordered glasses with the wrong P.D.. And they felt funny and made me a bit dizzy. So I ended up not wearing them. And almost a year later, I finally got my P.D. checked and Coastal.com allowed me to return my glasses. No questions asked. They just refunded me the whole amount and I used to order a new pair. They come with a high-quality case (unlike the overprices glasses at Visionworks, where you only get a cheap case that doesn't protect them), cleansing cloth and an eyeglass screwdriver. Give it a try. All their customers are happy!

I wear glasses, not contacts, and I've always had a hard time finding glasses that I liked that were also at a reasonable price. This is why I am glad that I discovered Coastal.com. I went to some physical stores as I was looking to buy some rimless frames for myself. Unfortunately the prices at the stores were way, way out of my budget (over $100 more than I wanted to spend). A friend of mine had raved about Coastal.com so I decided to give them a try, though to be honest I was nervous about buying a pair of glasses without being able to try them on first. I was very impressed by how easy it was to use the Coastal.com website. You can easily look for the type of frames you want and sort them by price (I also liked the fact that I didn't have any annoying sales people trailing around after me like I have had at the physical eye glass stores). It was easy to see the dimensions of the frames and also the way they would fit on my face (with the handy picture they have online). All I had to do was enter my information from my prescription and the glasses were on their way and received well within the shipping dates provided from the company. I have also had to return a pair of glasses (due to an error on my part, not there's) and it was super simple. They simply sent me a return address and i shipped them back and my account was credited. I highly recommend this site for anyone looking to purchase new glasses for themselves at a low price.

Coastal.com is the best place to buy contacts AND glasses. I have been wearing both for about 16 years, mostly contacts during the day, but glasses before bed and for the first hour or so that I'm up in the morning. With or without insurance, eyecare can be expensive and so can products like glasses and contacts. My insurance covers the contacts but I still need glasses as a backup and to wear occasionally. I didn't want to pay over $100 out of pocket for the cheapest pair of glasses my eye dr. had, so I went looking for bargains online. I found coastal.com 2 years ago when they were running a promo for free glasses for new customers. Nearly all the designer name-brand frames were sold out, but I got a very trendy, cute pair totally FREE. If I'd wanted options for the lenses I could have payed a bit extra, but the basics were fine for me. I was charged only for shipping (under $10) and my glasses arrived FAST. They are perfect, look GREAT on me! All I needed was the info on my prescription which I had from last eye dr visit. I also started ordering my contacts there now that I wear more expensive ones that only have the 1st box covered by insurance. They have excellent products, fast shipping, GREAT promo codes and discounts, and a very well-designed website.
