My face tends to be very oily, so I had difficulty buying a good sunscreen. The Clinique City Block Sheer Oil-Free Daily Face Protector SPF 25 solves that problem! It is not oily at all so my face doesn't feel oily at all, and it's protects my face everyday. It's perfect for use everyday since the SPF is quite low (25).

Clinique has been one of my favorite mid range high end brands.Their products are reliable and great for sensitive skin.I never thought about purchasing a face protector before until I came across this, and I'm glad I did! It works great with my skin and stays Oil-Free for the whole day.I love that this has SPF 25, because most only have SPF 15 which don't do much for me. Clinique products, like always don't have any scents which is great, a person can get really sick of smelling the same cream,lotion or face wash everyday.When I put this on my face it absorbed really fast so I can quickly put on my makeup.I get really badly sun-burnt in the summer and even during winter so this is a life saver for me.If you're on the market for a new Face Protector I highly recommend Clinique City Block Sheer Oil-Free Daily Face Protector SPF 25.

I'm very careful about protecting my skin from the sun.    I don't want to look like leather and I don't want to get skin cancer.    Using products that are good for my skin and protect me is important.  I also have allergies to many products and find that Cliniqe offers me a fragrance and chemical free product that does not cause me to break out or get rashes.   The Clinique City Block is oil free.    I apply it over my day lotion which also has SPF protection.  Then I apply my makeup over the top of that.   The City Block goes on with a yellowish tint.   Don't panic because that color fades.   The color lets you know that you have 100% coverage on your face.     I also use it on my nose and am very pleased that it is not greasy and does not clog my pores.   Clinique is allergy tested, contains no fragrance, and no chemical sunscreens.      The City Block has been very effective in keeping my skin from burning.    I apply it over my day lotion whenever I'm working outside and going without makeup.

Clinique City Block Oil-Free Daily Face Protector comes in a 1.4 fluid ounce tube with a twist off cap. It has 25 SPF, is 100% fragrance free and allergy tested and is for all skin types. It is a lightly tinted cream. I really like this sun block. I tend to worry about using sun blocks on my face because I usually feel like they are greasy and are going to make my skin break out. I bought this because it was oil-free and was specifically for the face, and I haven't been disappointed. I like that it is lightly tinted because sometimes if I'm not wearing makeup I can throw this on and get sun protection, plus feel like I look a little more covered than if I was completely makeupless. It is very sheer and feels lightweight and has never caused my skin any problems. I use it sparingly and have had the same tube for years without it drying out or becoming cakey. It is more expensive than some other sun blocks, but I don't have to buy it very often, so I don't mind.

I will start with what I don't like about the product, and that is the price.  Clinique products, including this city block, cost more than I would like to spend.  I usually wait until bonus time so I get a little something else out of the purchase price.  Other than that, I LOVE the product.  I wasn't big on putting sunscreen all the time, but I had to have a cancerous patch removed off of my forehead and have to be very careful now.  Many products that I tried clogged my pores and made my face break out.  I have had great success using this product and keeping my face from getting burned without having to deal with the side effects of facial breakouts.  I also find that it doesn't smell quite as sunscreen like as your average sunscreen does.  The tube is small, but I use it only on my face and found it lasted longer than I expected.  Even with what I consider a high price, I would recommend it to others.  You don't want to mess around with skin cancer and your face often gets more sun than you would think.

I have been using Clinique City Block with SPF 15 and then SPF 25 for about a decade. I love the fact that it does NOT irritate my ultra sensitive skin in any way. No redness, no breaking out, no itching or making me peel or drying my skin out. If anything, this product actually soothes my skin, seeming to moisturize it a bit without making my face greasy or shiny. It actually helps keep the shine down some without having to wear pore-clogging powders while evening out my skin tone. Many days I use it in place of foundation, but what I am more excited about is that the sun screens in this version are physical sunscreens that I can actually wear and not have to worry about my eyes swelling shut with! Finally! One I can wear. However, especially with this year's batch I do have a few complaints. One, it is expensive. Two, the color seems darker, less sheer this year than it used to be and with my pale skin, that's an issue. Three, more clumping and having to work to rub it in and I actually wonder if rubbing off my needed SPF protection than before. I still love the product, still would recommend, but as time and money may allow, which right now they really do not permit, I will be trying to find something that works for me that is more affordable and hoping Clinique fix whatever happened so that it goes back to being lighter in color, more sheer with less clumpage and having to rub in and off.

I believe that suncare is important, but that said I often do a bad job of maintaining that goal.  After trying Clinique City Block, I found that even when I forgot to reaply sunscreen during a long day of sun exposure, my face did not burn.  It's effectiveness in protecting my skin is unsurpassed in any sunscreen I ever tried.  And it is oil free, which is a necessity for skin like mine.  My two main complaints are the price, which was steep for such a small tube (though thanks to Clinique bonuses you can at least get some extra goodies with your purchase) and it did feel a little heavy.  Both when applying the suncreen, and even hours later, I still felt like something was on my face.  Perhaps this is necessary in order for it to be so effective, but it feels a little yucky.  Especially during a humid summer, I want as little "weight" and "grease" on my skin as possible.  That said, I would still turn to this product when requiring strong sun protection, even at relatively low SPFs (I've tried 15 and 25).

When I'm out in the sun I have the kind of skin that needs protection to avoid a burn, but also won't break me out. I used this on my face and a different lotion for the rest of my body and my face is the one part that didn't get a slight burn. I also love that it has a tint to it that doesn't make you feel like you have makeup caked on over sunscreen, but gives you a little bit of coverage (great for people like me who get blemishes!)
