This wash is horrible. Two days into using it my whole faceis bright red, itchy, and has little bumps all over.. I'd much rather have acne, now I have this horrible rash with acne under it. :( it feels like a sunburn but super itchy and bumpy. I was using a different clean and clear product before I bought this product and it didn't hurt my face at all. I know I'm not allergic to salicylic acid... So I'm not sure why this product has done this but I definitely DO NOT recommended it.
I tried Clean & Clear Advantage 3-in-1 Foaming Acne Wash a few years ago. I had a bad experience with it and will never use it again! I normally like Clean & Clear products but this was definitely a bust!
The face wash comes in a clear bottle with a pump. It goes from liquid to foam when you pump it out. It feels pretty good on your face and cleans it well. I noticed almost immediately after using the product though that it was irritating my skin. It instantly felt dry and tight once I patted my face dry after rinsing. I put moisturizer on and figured it would be fine. I used it the next few days and noticed each day that my face was getting more and more dry and scaly. It started to hurt when i would move my face. After about a week I decided that was enough of that!
I do not recommend Clean & Clear Advantage 3-in-1 Foaming Acne Wash. It dried out my face really bad to the point where it hurt to talk!
VERY dry skin which caused pain when I moved my face!
It made my skin worse
I have oily skin and my pores get clogged easily. I wanted a great face wash that would help fix most of my facial issues. I do not usually get acne, only during really stressed out occasions and during my "time of the month". I started using this face wash and it seemed to work well at first. Perhaps after only 4 days of using it, however, my face became extremely dry. It got so dry, that I would feel a burning sensation while using the face wash! My skin got very pink from irritation, while my nose and cheeks became really flaky. I also used the matching moisturizer right after, and that did not help much either. I do not have an oily face problem anymore, but it dried up my face too much! You should be careful if you have normal skin. It would probably dry it up more than it did to me. I also still broke out in acne while using the product. Also, if you accidentally get just a little bit in your eye, you might want to yank your eyeballs out. I would personally try to find a better product than this.
Works pretty well
I used it everyday for about 2-3 months and it's a good product overall. It was very easy to use as the pump provided a good amount each time for washing my face and afterwards left my face feeling clean and refreshed. Since using it everyday, I had less acne/breakouts, but I felt like it did little to help those that already developed. It is a great everyday product, but sometimes it did leave my skin feeling a bit dry since I did use it everyday, but overall a good product.
After using this product, it leaves your face feeling clean and provides a little bit of a cooling sensation
Ease of Application
Very easy to use since there is a pump and usually one pump is all that you need to wash your face.
easy to use, but not ideal for travel since you have the pump
little bit of dryness and redness, nothing too extreme
There were not immediate effects, but after using it for a long time, I had fewer breakouts, but did not help the acne that had already developed
Clear & Clear Foaming Acne Wash made my skin flaky sore and dry!
Well, I bought this product after using my sister's product. She was staying with us for a while and after using the foaming wash 2 or 3 times my blemishes were disappearing! It sort of irritated my skin a little, but I didn't think much of it. I just thought "I'm going to have perfect skin!" I was really pleased with it so I bought some of my own.
My satisfaction with this product didn't last long as after a week of using it twice a day, as it recommended, my skin was becoming very dry and sore. I tried putting some normal moisturiser on afterwards to stop the dryness but it just made it worse. I thought this might just be my skin getting used to the product and that it would stop soon enough. It just got worse.
The next few days I experienced very flaky skin around my nose, chin and cheeks. Then the skin around my nose got cracked and started to bleed. My skin felt sore, dry, and raw all the time. Earlier on I thought it must be my moisturiser (Dove) but I now know that it was the Clear & Clear Foaming Acne Wash.
Even though it seemed to get rid of my minimal blemishes at first, it made my skin about 20 times worse than it was to start with! I'm using just a normal Dove soap bar now which is great for my skin! It makes my skin smooth and moist. I moisturise after that with my Dove moisturiser, which makes my skin so soft! Dove all the way!
Absolutely terrible, causes chemical burn
Absolutely terrible, even dangerous!
I bought this line, including the toner, the moisturizer and the cleanser when I was looking for a more effective acne treatment. I have pretty bad skin with occasional cystic outbreaks, and have used many different skin care lines ranging from expensive to cheap. I used it twice, once at night and once in the morning, and noticed my skin looked dryer. I moisturized with a very effective Elizabeth Arden night cream and it felt better shortly, but then started burning again. However, I had just gotten off an international flight and figured it must have just been the jetlag combined with the dry cabin air... Oh boy was I wrong.
Two days after first using the cream, I woke up with a rash across my whole face going down my neck, one swollen eyelid and red skin all around. It cleared out my acne, but gave me chemical burn. In the last few hours my other eye has swollen up, and I am treating my skin with cold compresses, prescription strength hydrocortisone cream, heavy duty moisturizers and honey-oil masks, and it seems to be working. However, I work in the entertainment business and rely on what my skin looks like. It has improved slightly, but the damage is done. I look like some sort of red-faced, puffy-eyed alien. It is not pretty.
Furthermore, I have trouble breathing, seeing (through the ouffy eyelids), eating and talking because my skin hurts so much. It feels like I had a very bad allergic reaction or a massive sunburn.
This product has to be recalled, because I have found many other reviewers that say the exact same thing happened to them.
The only product from this line that worked well without the massive side effects was the spot treatment.
Its soap basically
I am not one to get pimples. I am a teenager but I have luckily never really dealt with acne . Once in a while I get a little zit here and there and I wanted to use this to help control the number of those little outbreaks, plus in the summer, my face gets a little oily and itchy.
First off, where was the foam? It felt like I just squeezed liquid soap into my hands. Speaking of soap, this is what this "acne wash" seemed to me. It felt the same as soap on my face, and dried my skin up just like soap. I might as well continued to use Dove and call it a day.
I can say it smells kinda nice...
Overall, I was not too impressed with this but I am too lazy to get something else and luckily I didn't spend much on it. Maybe I should try neutrogena next time....
clean and clear advantage really works
This is one of the best products I have ever tried. I have a very strict budget so when I found this the price persuaded me to try it and I have been using it ever since. To start it Actually works, its not a miracle treatment or anything but my face has definatly cleared up. Both my acne and my blackheads have nearly disappeared completly (say 95%). Which is the best results I have ever had from a single product. It keeps my skin from getting oily for most the day which is truely amazing. It is also gentle. I use it 1 to 2 times a day, seven days a week and my skin doesnt get dried out by it like a lot of products do if you use it that often. After using it my skin feels clean and not oily at all but doesnt get tight and dry. I would definately recommend this product to anyone. It takes care of existing acne and blackheads and also helps keep you from developing more. and the price is a definate plus. Also a little goes a long way with this product (I think because of the way it foams up) so a bottle lasts a long time, you dont have to go get a new bottle every couple weeks, mine has lasted over 2 months now(just dont let it get real cold, it changes color a little and doesnt foam up as much but still works)

Great at first, then dies down
I usually get acne more times than others during stressful situations, like having papers do or having family or friends issues, or just when I start to eat horribly -- fast food and sugar mostly. It sounds like a cliche or some sort of horrible commercial, but it is the truth.
I used to use another sort of acne treatment but after a while, my skin got used to it and it just sort of stopped working. It didn't make things worse, but it just existed, it did not help me out too much. So when I realized I was getting more acne rather than getting rid of it, I decided to try a few other products.
It took a few tries, but I managed to locate Clean and Clear foaming 3-in-1 wash. Within two or three washes (and I usually wash my face only once a day in the shower) my acne dried up and went away! The results were long-living for several months.
However, after...I would say close to a year, my skin adjust and built up against the stuff; it doesn't work as well as it does at the beginning, but it is definitely useful and helpful at first.
Not a bad OTC facial cleaner
I have slight acne and I was looking for a product that was reasonably priced and that contained salicylic acid. After looking in the acne/facial cleanser section at my local drug store, I came across the Clean & Clear Advantage 3 in 1 foaming acne wash with the 2% salicylic acid as an active ingredient. I wasn't expecting miracles, just something that thoroughly cleaned my face and gave a little help to my acne problem.
I have normal to dry skin, especially in the cold winter, so over treating my skin with cleansers can cause my skin to flake. I only use this once a day with a moisturizer and it does the trick. The cleanser comes in an 8 oz. bottle with a pump and of course, easy to use. If you have dry skin, a moisturizer and an SPF are always recommended. If you are looking for something for a person with more acne problems, this may help clean out pores but won't clear up your face entirely but it's something over the counter that may help.
