this didnt work on my hair i even left it on 5 minutes longer....... very disapointed

Pulling through the cap is tedious and difficult with any kit but actual cap was great due to being double layered and a great fit. I used a metal hook I had purchased at Sally's sometime ago which made a little easier. I was expecting an orange/brassy outcome and a trip to Sally's for damage control but this proud sure showed me! My hair is medium golden brown naturally and after apx. 45 min it was extremely blonde with a hint of yellow. I could have used a little more time but I had to pick my son up do I rinsed and used generic brand purple shampoo and wallah! Perfect, salon quality highlights. Several people have asked me where I have my hair highlighted at! Also my hair is over 1/2 way down my back & minimal damage:) very satisfied!!

After spending way too much money in a salon to have my hair dyed a dark brown and highlighted , I decided to do it my self at home. I bought a dark brown garnier nutrisse foam, then I purchased this Clairol frost and tip, I normally go with the box that says creme. The cap and hook method can be frustrating, but worth it in the end if you have some patience. I followed directions in the box of course except for my hair being color treated, I left it on for approx 1 hour 40 min. Which take in mind, I dyed my hair dark brown the day before, so the highlights will lift better. Anyways, I have used this same method two times now and clariol frost and tip has lightened the dark brown to beautiful blonde highlights every time. With darker hair though you must keep in on that long to get that light blonde effect and dark hair goes through stages of orange, but when its a light yellow its time to rinse! I don't recommend using this if your hair is brittle or very unhealthy.

Clairol is notorious for hit or miss hair color products in my opinion. Unfortunately, Clairol Nice 'n Easy Frost and Tip Maximum Blonde Highlights is among the latter category. Highlighting hair can be quite difficult to do at home since if done incorrectly, highlights look particularly unflattering, even more so sometimes than a poorly applied all-over color. This product is a prime example of how easy it can be to make mistakes that ruin your look. Since it's pretty difficult to apply and require impeccable concentration, shaky hands or imperfect focus can certainly cause you to be unable to effectively apply the highlights. If done too thin, the highlights look streaky, but if done too thick, the highlights appear chunky, reminiscent of styles that are over a decade outdated. It's exceptionally tough to find the happy medium with this application system. Also, when they say "maximum" blonde, they mean it! The highlights look far too stark against most hair colors, leaving you with the always depressing skunk hair.

Love this frost and tip kit! I used it for the first time when I was 13. It's a great alternative to going to salon and spending a lot of money. I use it for the frosting. The cap takes the hassle and guess work out of highlights. I always got compliments at school the next day. The kit has great versatility too. It's a simple versatility. Just by varying the time you leave the bleach in you can get subtle highlights or bright trendy streaks. It's not good if your hair is longer than armpit length. Any longer than that the hair is just too long to pull through the holes without many tangles. All in all I would buy again. Effectiveness The kit does exactly what it says it does. I have never bought a box and had something go wrong or something was missing from the box. Every kit was complete and worked just the way I wanted. Ease of Application If you read the instructions completely and follow them closely you can't go wrong. The instructions are clear and easy to understand, The only thing I would recommend is to do a strand test. By that I mean pull a couple of hairs through for practice before you attempt the rest of you hair. Just to develop a technique.

Clairol Nice n' Easy Frost & Tip Maximum Blonde Highlights is a great brand if you are doing it yourself. I first used this highlighting kit a couple years ago and I loved it. I have dark brown hair so most brands don't turn my hair blonde without a booster. But, with Clairol Nice n' Easy Frost & Tip Maximum Blonde Highlights my tips are left with a beautiful blonde tint to them and I was so pleased with the way they turned out. I would certainly use this product again. It is easy to apply and it is not time consuming like going to the salon could be. It takes hours in the salon but with this highlighting kit at home it can be done in less than an hour. Effectiveness This product is highly effective in highlighting your tips with a gorgeous blonde frost. I was very satisfied with the results I got from this brand. I would buy it again. Although it is a bit expensive, it is well worth it. Ease of Application This product had easy to do instructions and the preparation and application of the dye, was simple.

Clairol Nice n easy frost kit works great. I have been using Clairols frost and tips kits for over 20 years. It is the best brand for frosting your hair. I have tried other brands and was not happy with the results. With Clairol you never have that red look that some kits give you because your hair didn't process enough. Clairol is tough enough to do the job without causing a lot of damage to your hair. Clairol has made frosting your hair simple. You have a cap you place on your head and pull the hair through with the provided hook. You decide how much you want. The directions are easy to understand. It is a simple process after you get used to pulling your hair through. Mixing the chemicals are easy. Be sure to use the gloves provided. The cost is cheap for a great look. You will save a lot by using this kit over paying at a salon and the outcome is just as nice if you follow instructions. I would use no other brand.

Clairol Frost and Tip is the best home-highlighting kit that you can buy, hands down.  It is positively the most foolproof way to highlight your hair on the market.  I have been highlighting my own hair for about ten years now, and I have tried just about every highlighting kit that is available, and this is definitely a keeper.  This is a cap and hook kit, meaning you tie a cap onto your head and use a hook to pull the hair through that you want to lighten.  The kit comes with a guide to help you know which holes to use in order to achieve the desired effect.  Once you get the hang of it, the process goes relatively quickly.  Once you finish that, you mix up the bleach, slap it on, put a bag over your head, and wait.  A short time later (depending on how dark your hair is), you rinse off, condition, and voila--fantastic highlights.  The conditioner that comes with the kit is fantastic as well--leaves hair silky in spite of the bleach in the kit.  I get stopped by random strangers asking me where I get my color done, and they are shocked to learn that I do it myself.
