I have gone through 8 of these in the last 30 years or so.  They make the best popcorn we have ever tasted anywhere.  My guests ask for popcorn and my kids beg for it all the time.  We use a mix of butter flavored Crisco and/or peanut oil.  Even though there are a couple of things that I wish they would improve, I still think it is the best!

I received the stir crazy popper for my wedding anniversary because I LOVE popcorn.  I can make a lot of popcorn with this machine, but it is not the easiest to clean.  It does have a nonstick surface, but cannot be immersed in water.  I do not reeommend using the holes in the dome for melting butter, this doesn't work very well.

My husband is in love with Stir Crazy Popcorn Popper! He eats popcorn often and loves the taste the Stir Crazy has compared to popping corn in the microwave or other ways. I would say he goes through a ton of popcorn each month! I like it too just can't eat it everday, hehe! The Stir Crazy really does a great job at popping all of the kernels and it is consistant! I also love that it saves you a ton of money popping it verses buying bags to go in the microwave. My downfall thoughts for this products is once your popcorn is popped you have to flipped the Stir Crazy upside down to get the popcorn in the bowl, and sometimes that is a hassle and it is hot and I tend to burn myself. The other thing I don't love it when it comes to cleaning it. Pretty big hassle, and overtime the paint has started to chip off where the kernels go, granted we have had it for 2 years but still. Overall I do like the Stir Crazy and would recommend it to others, just note kinda stinks to clean and flip over to put popcorn in the bowl (top).

The Stir Crazy popcorn popper is absolutely the best ever. You can put as little or as much oil in it as you desire. We have never had any popcorn to burn in it. The Stir Crazy also leaves very little hulls behind. The lid will double as a bowl and you can also put butter in the top for it to melt while the corn is popping. There are just a couple small cons I see. The first is that you cannot submerse the unit itself in water to wash it so it makes clean up a little difficult. The second being it is a pain to store due to it's large/awkward size. But overall those are minor annoyances compared to the great popcorn it makes. I don't think you could possibly go wrong with the purchase of this product and the kids love watching it in action!

This Chris Freytag Sitr Crazy Popcorn popper is a fun way to make popcorn. My son asked for one this Christmas and I came across this Chris Freytag Crazy Popper and desided to give it a try. This popcorn maker is very easy to work and also easy to clean. I also like the fact that you dont need to do much to make the popcorn just popcorn and oil. It also has a fun modern stylish look. The Stir crazy popper has really come in hand when we have the kids friends over or even when we have movie night with the family. I have also recommend this popper to several friends and family looking for a easy to use fun popcorn maker.

Chris Freytag Stir Crazy Popcorn Popper is hands down one of the easiest and best popcorn poppers that I have ever come across. It is so simple to use, you just plug it in and put about 2 table spoons of peanut oil into the bottom and then add a third of a cup of your favorite popcorn kernals to it, put the lid on and then stand back and do absolutely NOTHING at all and watch as the Chris Freytag Stir Crazy Popcorn Popper does all the work. I love how easy this machine is to use, how simple it is to clean with the non-stick surface you just let it cool a bit and wipe it clean! The taste of the popcorn that comes out of the Chris Freytag Stir Crazy Popcorn Popper is also really really good. I don't even add anything to mine other than a tiny pinch of salt if I am using peanut oil. I think the combination of the heat and the oil really give the popcorn a perfect simple flavor that needs no additions really. If you want a simple to use, easy to clean machine that makes perfect popcorn go get a Stir Crazy Popcorn Popper!

We've used this popper for some time and are thrilled. The popcorn is super light and the popper makes it extremely easy to melt butter. It has the ability to make a lot of popcorn. That's a hint, dear hubby refuses to measure and sometimes the the result is an overbundance of popcorn. When measured correctly, you can adjust the quantity as desired. It does come with several pieces and occassionally we have to hunt for it when we went to use the popper. Otherwise storage is relatively simple. Price is reasonable and can meet the needs of most budgets. Would be excellant for a housewarming, graduation or shower present. This machine is relaible, constant and simple to use. This stir crazy popper offers a nice alternative to an air popper.

I was a bit leery when I bought this. I've owned too many gadgets like this that turned out to be a disappointment. Not so with the Stir Crazy. I'd forgotten how good popcorn is when not popped in a microwave and the Stir Crazy takes make 30 seconds longer than the microwave. I decided to get a popcorn popper because popcorn is a reasonably healthy snack and microwave popcorn leaves such a nasty film in your mouth after eating it. I owned an air popper years ago and the popcorn was awful - like eating sawdust only with less flavor. I was looking at one of the old timey movie style poppers when I noticed the Stir Crazy on the shelf below. It was a third of the price of the movie style and made 8 quarts at a time compared to 8 cups for the movie style. So I decided, although doubtful, to give it a try. If you follow the directions, you'll get oodles of perfect popcorn in a couple of minutes. I've never seen more than one or two grannies. The only way you'll get burned or unpopped corn is if you don't unplug it when the popcorn is done - just as it stops popping. It's also fairly easy to clean. The bowl upends for use as a very large popcorn bowl. I don't know of any appliance I've ever bought that we enjoyed so much. I've been trying different types of popcorn and oils as well as various toppings. Because it makes so much at a time, I put the leftovers in a plastic bag for snacking the next day, which we've also enjoyed. An on/off switch would be nice but it isn't that hard to simply unplug the popper in lieu of a switch.

My name is Kim Stewart. I am married with a household of 3. My husband, Daughter and I are crazy over the Stir Crazy Popcorn Popper. We love how quickly it makes popcorn. The stir crazy popcorn popper makes a large amount of popcorn. On top of the Stir Crazy, it has a special place to put butter(optional) so it could melt as it heats and starts making the popcorn. My family loves this product, not only because it's quick and easy, it is also fun to watch it go around and around. The Stir Crazy is also great for parties. Guest love to watch it pop the corn and when finish the lid could be used as a bowl, which is my favorite part of this product.I sit for children and the Stir Crazy is a great way to entertain the kids as well as giving them a healthy treat. I find the Stir Crazy Popcorn Popper easy to clean. There are only two small parts to take apart and clean. The only negitive response I have about this broduct is this is not to be put into the dishwasher, but I don't have one, so I have no worry.Overall I give this product a thumbs up!

I had heard good things about the Stir Crazy popper and I was not disappointed when I purchased my own. If has to be the most efficient popper I've ever owned and it hasn't disappointed me yet. I hate air poppers that create chewy tasteless kernels and the oil based method of the Stir Crazy is what I believe to be the best method. Tasty, fluffy kernels and virtually no un-popped kernels, so there is little waste, even with low quality corn. Wire and center bolt disassemble easily for cleaning and a wet soapy sponge does the job well. 5 stars.
