i like this because it is small and gets the job done. i live alone and don't want a bunch of large appliances or gadgets clogging up my kitchen. i cook small portions and eat a lot of vegatables so i like to save time by using this unit to do my red onions, carrots, peppers, celery, etc... it's eay to clean and i only ever air dry it. i have had no problems with the unit not functioning properly. it has a touch operating system so you can just pulse the blade until your item is chopped or minced. this unit is much more suitable than a large bulky item - unless you are in the habit of preparing large meals for many people. i would also think this is a good gift for any person moving into their first apartment or even as a housewarming gift.

The Chefmate Mini Chopper is a terrific buy for several reasons.  First, it is small and, therefore, doesn't take too much space in your kitchen.  This chopper is so small that it can be left on the countertop of even the smallest kitchens for easy access. Second, it works quickly and smoothly.  Third, you control the blades with a one-touch feature that allows you to chop into larger chunks or as fine as you want.  Fourth, The short cord will not get in the way of other appliances or hang from the side of the countertop and cause accidents.  Fifth, for safety, the unit will not chop unless the container is locked into the base and the lid is locked onto the container.  This helps to prevent accidents with the very sharp blades. Finally, it is easy to clean.  After use, the container, lid and blade can be quickly rinsed off and put in the top rack of the dishwasher for a thorough cleaning.  It is also easy to clean by hand in the sink.  The base can easily be wiped off with a damp towel to clean and store until its next use.
