Does this mascara deliver on the promises of intense volume and sensational curl for your eyelashes? Well.....yes and no. If you are looking for intense curl, you will more than likely be disappointed. Although you can always use an eyelash curler to curl your eyelashes beforehand, you will need to let go of the expectation that this mascara will give exceptional curl to your eyelashes. Once you have let go of this expectation, this mascara can be considered an exceptional mascara, especially if you crave thick, dense eyelashes. The wetter-than-usual application does need additional smoothing with a separate eyelash brush for the best results, but it is worth the extra effort. This mascara is true to its claim about wearing well - this mascara wears well without smudging or flaking (great not to have racoon eyes by the end of the day) and it can be removed easily with a water-soluble cleanser. It is worth noting that you do not need to spend as much money as this for a fantastic mascara, but if you choose to and want your eyelashes to have a dramatic look you will be happy with this mascara. And good news is that this product was not tested on animals. This is something I look for when I buy products.

I originally received Exceptional de Chanel from Allure Magazine as a trial. I was excited but quickly realized   that the fancy designer name didn't make the mascara any better. I've gotten equal or better quality from my local pharmacy. However, I must admit that the brush is amazing. It is possibly one of the best makeup brushes that I own. It does it all! It curls, extends, and even separates lashes with only one brush stroke. I won't be buying this mascara when this tube runs out but I'll definetely be keeping the brush. I would say buy this mascara once and don't throw out the brush (its the only thing worth the money). My other favorite feature is that it didn't run easily but rather lasted the whole day. Usually, my cheaper mascara ends up under my eye and in my wrinkles by the end of day by the Chanel mascara only starts to run when you apply warm water while washing your face or taking a shower

I have been a long time fan of all things Chanel. Their products are made with the best of everything and their makeup line is no different. I have tried a lot of different mascaras from various makeup lines, but they always seemed to smear, smudge, make my eyes sting, water, tear up, or look caked on and simply tacky and the result was a mess. So, I gave up on trying to find a mascara that really worked. That it until one day I took one of the makeup mavens at the cosmetics counter up on her offer to demonstrate Chanel's mascara on me. After she was done applying the mascara, I took a look in the mirror and was amazed! My eyelashes looked full, long, and lush! My eyes looked even bigger and after walking around the mall with said mascara for a couple hours, there wasn't the familiar smudging, tearing up or awful looking mascara raccoon eyes. I went back the next day and purchased the mascara and I have been using it ever since.  If you're looking for a mascara that will go on effortlessly and make your eyes look amazing, then this is your mascara!

I got Exceptional de Chanel in the mail from Allure Magazine for free. I was so excited but I realized soon enough that even though it was a big name, the mascara itself wasn't that great. If not the same it was possibly worse than the ones that I pick up at my local pharmacy. On the flip side of this, the brush is absolutely amazing. It is the best piece of cosmetic technology that I own. The brush does it all. It can curl, extend, and separate your lashes all in one swipe. When this mascara is done, I do not intend to buy this product again but I am not throwing this brush out. The brush is a real keeper. I would recomend buying this once and keeping the brush, it is totally worth the department store price. A plus about the mascara was that it didn't run throughout the day. My usual mascara ends up in all of my fine lines by the end of day but this one only runs when I take a shower. Its nice to have a makeup that doesn't make you look worse by the end of the day.
