Great for cable and Wifi hookups

Telephone is so so. Speed I am very happy with cable t.v. and high speed internet service. Security Very secure service. Reliability Some disruptions in the evening Phone service is not good especially for landline. Customer Service Once I get through to customer support and explain I want a service call to my home, service is excellent. At 72 years old, I do not fix any problems myself.

Average Internet

4

We used to have Century Link Internet and phone, and the service was average at best. They did not have many down times where service wouldn't work. But the speed was also not that great. Call Quality We usually did not have problems with calls dropping or poor quality. We would occasionally get static in the line, but other than that, we were able to hear calls well. Coverage The main reason we switched away from Century Link is that it is not available in the new area where we now live. Customer Service Customer service was actually very pleasant to work with (compared to most customer service experiences). We have also had Comcast, and Century Link's customer service is far better. They get straight to the point, and they are willing to answer your questions and help you without trying to sell you something different. The hold times also were relatively low. I do not think I ever sat on hold for more than ten minutes.

Not Great

We have had CenturyLink for internet service for several years now. In our location, Century is one of the few companies that provides internet service where we live - way out in the country. Before we moved to our present house, we had a bundle with CenturyLink and Dish - which consisted of internet, land line telephone, and satellite television. During that time, I had numerous encounters with the customer service department regarding service, trouble with the line, etc - and I was disappointed every time. I think Century really has one of the worst, unhelpful customer service departments I have ever dealt with. Since we have lived in our new home - about a year - we dropped the bundle and only have internet service through Century. The service is fair at best. It is in and out a LOT throughout the day. Granted, we do live in a very rural area - but, I would say at least 5 times each day the "red" light is on my modem box showing that the internet is not available. Overall, Century Link is just "so-so." There could be worse companies, but I'm sure there are much, much better companies as well - just not where we live.

Not worth the money

I wish I could give this company a negative rating. I use to have Embarq and then CenturyLink took it over. It was the worst thing that could have happened. I had a bundle from CenturyLink - tv, phone, and internet and none of them worked. I had problems with the modem that they installed (wouldn't connect). So after many (slightly angry) calls over two weeks, a tech finally came out and told me the installer who put in the modem gave me an old modem that CenturyLink didn't even use. After I got a new modem (that worked), more problems started. Somewhere in the cable line there was a cut and every time it rained I would lose service. The phone line would be completely dead or have so much static that making a call was impossible. The internet connection would cease or connect but never go anywhere. The tv/cable ... well ... that was a joke to say the least. I called (thank god for cellphones) every time my service went out and made CenturyLink aware of the problem, but they refused to come out and run new lines. Needless to say, I switched to another company.

CenturyLink phone and internet

I have a service bundle with CenturyLink home phone and internet and Directv satellite television. When bundled this way it's a great value and CenturyLink has a range of plan options to choose from depending on your needs. I don't use my home phone service as much as I do my internet, but when I do the call clarity and pricing is pretty good. I never have any coverage problems or hidden fees. I am overall satisfied with the internet as well. It had a high rate of speed when connecting to the internet which I love! It does have it's moments when it's slow but those are rare and I have never had any interruptions in internet service which is great because I use the internet all the time! Another great thing is that it is all wireless so I use my unlimited CenturyLink internet data on three tablets and one laptop and sometimes on my cell phone as well. The internet connection speed is fast even when multiple devices are using the same internet connection! I would definitely recommend CenturyLink for your home phone and internet service!

I've had worse

I switched to Century Link from a really bad carrier. I have had service for about 6 months. So far so good. What I appreciate the most from this company is that bill is always as it should be. Unfortunately only 3 MG internet is available in our area but it still works decent for streaming. My biggest issue with this carrier however is the amount of time it takes to get ahold of them. Unless you are wanting to upgrade your service expect to waste 30-60 minutes on hold. Even if you start out at sales and get transferred you will still be on hold forever. Make sure you go directly through Century Link otherwise you might get erroneous information. I learned that the hard way. All in all I have had a good experience with Century Link. I appreciate that they don't mess with my service or bill. Call Quality I use voice over IP with their internet. Coverage I really wish there were higher speeds of internet available in my area. Plan Options Plans were limited due to our area. Customer Service Customer service is good but it takes a long time to get to a representative.

Poor service, inadequate customer service

2

I have been a customer of Century Link for two years. In that two years, I have been constantly disappointed.. I constantly have issues with their service. When I call to find out what is going on or to get something fixed, they spend forever going through the same fixes over and over, even if I tell them I did that before I called. I mean, seriously, after a while, I learned what they're going to go through the first twenty minutes. And more often than not, after spending an hour on the phone, they finally will tell me they are aware of the issue in my area and they hope to have it resolved soon. Why they couldn't tell me that when I first called is completely beyond me. And going through email, chat, and facebook customer service are no better. It seems like contacting them is just an exercise in futility. Worst customer service I have ever seen. I've been exploring other options since about a week after I got service through Century Link. Unfortunately, Century Link is the only really viable option where I live right now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an alternative soon. Century Link is a disappointing company all the way around.

Century link

I have century link as my Internet provider and I think it works pretty well. I have only had my wifi not work twice and all I had to do was unplug the modem/router and plug it back in and my wifi was back up and running smoothly. I have not had any of the other services century link provides but the Internet is pretty good. Customer Service Everyone I've delt with at century link has been easy to deal with and been helpful.

Not your best option

3

When I first became a Century Link customer I was pretty happy with the services they provided. I had both internet and telephone with them, but eventually I had to leave them. My internet speeds were very inconsistent and the 15 mbps is was promised turned out to only be 5 or 6 mbps at times. I had to call Century Link several times about this issue and it took about 15 minutes each time. After calling them it usually sped up again to around 12 or 13, but not for long. The phone service was decent, the calls were clear and connections strong to not have dropped calls. The charges on my bill also became inconsistent, which was frustrating and took several phone calls as well. You cannot set a certain amount of money to the side for telephone and internet, because with Century Link it will fluctuate. I left Century Link about a year ago and do not regret it. Customer Service I would give it a 8 for the times when I called an someone who was based in America answered. A 2 or 3 when someone from India or Pakistan answered who was very difficult to understand.

Don't get scammed!!

I was a customer of Century Link for more than a year. I called to discuss my bill and the rep offered a lower plan. He did not inform me that if I took it that I could not disconnect my services for 12 months. I did not get a contract in the mail nor did I agree to one over the phone. Now that I've moved and can't use there service in my area, I am expected to pay an early termination fee and no one is willing to help me there. Call Quality Hung up on several times before I get to speak to a rep. Coverage Only the slowest internet speed was available in my area. Plan Options One option. Customer Service I was lied to.
