A good quality toy for cats

4

Overall, the cat charmer is a nice product to get cats up and moving. I've had mine for a couple of years and have not had any damage to it, and it appears to be pretty sturdily made. It's got a clear, acrylic handle with a long, soft fabric tail. It's not my cat's favorite toy to play with. He will go after it for about 5 minutes at a time, and then he's done with it. He has other toys that seem to capture his interest for much longer spells at a time (such as the Go Cat Da Bird). That said, I like to "mix it up" a little and use different toys to keep his curiosity piqued, and for that reason, I am glad I added this to his toy collection. It's important to keep things fresh and interesting for an indoor cat that needs stimulation. This does get him moving (running, jumping, swatting) even if it doesn't continue to motivate him very long. I also like that this is a very safe toy- if you accidentally hit your kitty (or a bystander) with this, it's just a nice soft fabric that won't hurt anyone. It would also be difficult to knock over a beverage with it, since it's so lightweight. All in all, a good product!

Lasts longer than other toys in the house.

I used to never buy toys for my cats because I thought all that they ever wanted was a cat tree and some things to scratch. Recently, I started watching a bunch of cat videos on YouTube, and I discovered that this stick/wand type toy is very popular. You wave this toy around your cat's face and he or she will become interested and chase after it. I went ahead and looked for a toy similar to what I saw and found this. The toy I wanted was a wand with bells attached, but I figured this toy would be just as good. I'm glad I went with this one because this seems like it will last much longer. Unlike bells that will get chewed off quickly, this toy will last longer because of the way it is designed. My cats both love this toy and got nuts chasing and pawing at it! I also love waving this toy in my cats' faces and seeing them have so much fun with it. I will continue to buy this cat charmer even if the one I have now gets destroyed.

This is the best toy

This is a great toy.  I originally bought it when I had only 1 cat, and she loved it.  Then we got a kitten and the fun never stops with this toy.  We always stored it up high out of reach and only took it out at playtime.  The kitten would take it down.  Now I have to hide it in a drawer.  Everytime I open the drawer, no matter where she is in the house, she is looking in there when she hears the drawer open.  My little dog has even got into chasing it around.  This is an excellent toy and I would recommend it highly,

Brings out unknown spunk in old cats

5

My 8-year-old cat came to life at the sight of this. I don't know what it is about the Cat Charmer, but it's worse (better?) than catnip for my cats. If I had the energy to hold the toy that long, they'd be lunging and diving and pouncing for hours. The string/fabric stretches and seems pretty durable (it hasn't torn for me, and my cats get pretty violent with it), and my cats seem to love how it bounces back once they let go. Somehow in all the chaos, my kitties get it into knots, but it's not really a big deal. It's just knotted. The only cat toy I know that causes an equal amount of devout cat-attention is the Cat Dancer, made by the same company. Great buy.

I watched my cat turn kitten!

I have two cats.  I bought this for the younger one who still plays.  Imagine my surprise when even the older one wanted to get in on the action!  The long fabric makes a "swirlly" motion that the cats love.  When I bring it out, their eyes get big, the tails start thumping, and they are on the prowl!  They love to chase the brightly colored swirl as I make it dart around them.  Fun for us all!

Cat charmer is a winner

My cats always came running when I pulled out this toy, but one guy loved it way too much and kept chewing off stretches to play with. I was looking for a new one last week but the one I saw looks shorter than the original. The fluttering through the air and the variety of movement that this toy achieves is a real crowd pleaser in my house!

Cat charmer a stick with long fabric attached

3

Mine didn't look quite like this one mine was resembling an animal skin possibly a leopard print. But basically it was a long stick with a long snake like fabric tail attached to it. My kitty liked this one only if you were skilled enough to make it slide slowly and just the way the kitty wanted. If I was too fast or too meticulous with it my cat would never go get it. It had to be played with in a certain way or else. This was fun for a while to get my cat to chase this or play with it but I would have to come up with new ways in which to use it to make it interesting. I would drag it behind me when I walked which worked only a few times. I would turn the mattress on its side and run it along that and that was really the best way for my cat to be interested in it to play with it. Most of the time I would spend all my energy trying different things and my cat wouldn't do anything. I think there are better toys out there than this one but if it works for your cat then it is a very good buy.

Cats love this toy!

I had three cats and they all went crazy for the Cat Dancer, from the tiny kitten to the senior kitty they all loved it. It seems like such a simple toy but it is totally fascinating to cats and gives them tons of enjoyment and exercise and provides lots of entertainment for their owners as well. It's easy to entice a kitten to play but to see your senior kitties so interested and actively chasing and grabbing for a toy is a wonderful gift. I have given the Cat Dancer as gifts to my cat owning friends, and they all have loved this toy. The drawbacks are that you can't leave your cat to play with Cat Dancer alone, you need to actively play with your cat or at the very least supervise your cat's playtime if the Cat Dancer is out. This is not entirely a drawback because your cats will be excited to see you and anticipating play time and it's fun for the owners as well. The other drawback is that the cardboard parts of the Cat Dancer are rather easily destroyed if your cat grabs it from you and runs and start aggressively chewing on the toy.

Highly recomened by "The Cat"

Like all cat lovers, I have cat toys.   Or at least, I THOUGHT I  had cat toys! This simple little gadget beats them all.  We have a kitten, "Tuffy" and an older girl, "Juliette".  The kitten, of course, is interested in EVERYTHING.   The older girl was formerly content to sit in a warm corner and watch the world go by until she saw the Catdancer Cat Charmer.  It lives up to it's name.  It has completely charmed Juliette. She is back to stalking and attacking on the run whenever the Cat Charmer is brought out.  Tuffy can be playing with it and Juliette will ambush him and the toy.  That of course initiates an interaction between the two of them.  The Cat Charmer has totally brought back to life this one-time lazy girl. lol  Tuffy, the kitten enjoys it very much too.  He is inclined to try to "steal" the Cat Charmer and take it to his own hideout.   Between Juliette and Tuffy loving the Cat Charmer, I get tuckered out.  LOL

Hours of Entertainment

Catdancer Cat Charmer wow what a unbelievable toy, we are always looking for new toys to entertain our 2 cats as they seem to get bored rather easily with the ones they have. Upon stumbling across this one at our local pet store we decided to give it a try and can i tell you our cat that is 4 absoutly loves it and doesn't want to share it with our older cat, she drags it all around the house and begs us to dangle it in front of her and here it is a year later and the stick is now gone on it but she still continues to drag it around the house up and down our stairs and even into our son's room at night to sleep with it. I would definitly say Catdancer Cat Charmer has charmed our four year old cat but to my disappointment our local store no longer carries it so i'm on a hunt to get a new one cause it's on it's last leg but the price is great and the quality is great especially since we got a year out of the toy and she never got bored of it. Thanks Catdancer for making a product our cat loves
