These are fabulous!
My hair thick, fine and slightly wavy hair and as you move toward the nape of my neck the worse the wave become. This is something fairly newly aquired since I started arthritis meds about 7 years ago. I am able to get a slight bend into my hair if I use a blow drying brush while I blow dry it and it will look alright or let's say "passable". When I use this method, though, within a couple of hours my hair will soon be going flat and looking like I didn't bother to go through the blow drying step - like I just allowed it to dry naturally. The natural waves start creeping in and the frizz begins to encircle my head like a halo. Because of the arthritis it kills me to raise my arms up and wield the brush and dryer for 20 minutes in order to have only temporary results so I tried the drier with the brush attachment which didn't work for me either. One day I saw the Caruso Salon Pro Steam Hairsetter on Ebay and thought I would give it a try. Now I just wash my hair, spray in some leave in conditioner or a bit of BioSilk, sit, lean forward and dry my hair in any direction until its dry. I use a large toothed comb to comb through and section my hair before putting in a Caruso steam roller. Once I get them all into place I wait about 10 minutes, while I'm putting on my make-up, and then take the rollers out. It takes about 20 seconds for each curler to heat and be ready to put into your hair. Once you get used to it you can work into a good rhythm putting one curler into your hair while the other is heating. I don't find that just being able to heat one curler at a time is a hinderance. After the rollers are out and I've brushed the curls out of my hair and I've arranged it the way I like it, I mist it slightly with hair spray (sometimes I don't even use spray). My hair stays curled the remainder of the day - no problem. The curls do relax a bit but that's okay with me - I don't like really wound up hair. If I used a pre curl solution (set) I'm sure the curls would stay tight. Anyway, most of the time my hair looks great the next day even after I've slept on it. I'm getting ready to buy some more curlers of the sizes I prefer. The greatest thing about these curlers is that they don't dry out your hair!
