I bought this to replace an old Canon MP500. It has the same generally functionality & the same basic button-layout. It works well and prints great photos. The printer comes with a variety of software utilities for scanning & printing photos. The software allows you to scan multiple pages into a single PDF document, which comes in very handy. It eliminates having to scan pages individually and create multiple PDF files. Also, I was surprised by the quality of printed photos...they looked really good. Performance The performance is great for my needs, although it is probably average when compared to other printer brands/models Copy Quality The copy quality is actually pretty good. It copies as well as many industrial sized copy machines that I have used. Ink/Paper Use This printer can use various types of paper, which is nice if you need to print card-stock or use heavy cotton resume paper. The OEM (Cannon) ink refills are somewhat pricey, so I would recommend purchasing aftermarket non-OEM ink refills. Ease of Use Canon has done everything they can to make the printer easy to use. My 77 year old father uses this printer all the time and he doesn't have any trouble using it. Durability I am not really sure how you characterize the durability of a printer. If I drop it onto the floor, it would probably break. Design Very sleek design. The printer is appealing to the eye & it is built in such a way as to be user friendly and ergonomic.
