Bought Canon MP 190 new and was able to use it abount a dozen times before it started having trouble with not being able to feed paper without jamming.  Followed trouble shooting directions but to no avail.  Decided against having it repaired as it would not be worth the time and effort considering the initial cost.  Bought me a Kodak printer although more expensive much more trouble free.  One more thing, while printer was cheap and came with ink cartridges, cost of replacement cartridges would be more than the original cost of printer. As one of the daytime TV court judges is fond of saying "the cheap comes out more expensive".

We have been using this printer for about one year now, and we have been moderately satisfied with it.  The initial price of the printer was not bad at all, and it has a scanner as well.  When it comes to the quality of the printed materials, I wasn't impressed.  I will say, it is fine for text only documents.  For images, the pictures are grainy, and the colors are off balanced, even when the ink cartridge has just been replaced.  The ink is also rather expensive, and I feel ripped off buying ink that I know I will be disappointed with. Sometimes the printer also waits for the previous page to dry, even if it is just text, which can be inconvenient if you are in a hurry.  We have also had a few incidents with the paper tray jamming.  It should also be noted that the paper tray cannot hold very much paper at all, which can be a hassle if you need to print a huge, multi page thing.  My bottom line: ok if you are just printing text.  If you need images, you would want to buy a different printer.

The scanner on this is amazing, the pictures scan in in better quality than they are, great for restoring old pictures. I also like the software that comes with it so you can scan in multiple items and make multiple files with just one scan, just spread them out on the scanner and viola, easy! I do not like that it makes horrible coupon prints, I use online coupons a lot and the bar codes are horrible, even on excellent quailty. The picture printing however is very nice, not the best, but very nice. The printing speed is a little slow, and the printer is pretty bulky, but pretty good for the price. I do not like the cheapness of the material, I was expecting better, not this thin plastic all over, and it eats ink like CRAZY, not to mention the parts seem to just fall off or worse, break off. I've owned one and operated another at work, but I don't think I'll be getting this one again. The options are nice on the scanner to print pictures, and you can use it like a copier, but not on quality items.

I print A LOT, so I need a good reliable printer. I liked and bought this printer because it was an all-in-one printer and it was on sale the day I went to look for a new printer. It can scan, print, and copy which was great! This printer's functions were great, but it was a little on the large side, and it seemed to just drink ink. It seemed like I was ALWAYS changing the ink cartridges. The ink cartridges were kind of costly too. It does have the option of using the 31/30 or the 41/40 in cartridges which give you more options. The 40/41 yield more pages, but for the money, I didn't see the value in owning this printer anymore.The printer had a cheap initial price, but it was getting very costly to own and use. I even tried using recycled ink cartridges (like the store brand at office supply stores) or even refilling the cartridges myself (what a mess!), but trying to keep ink in this printer was a losing battle! I have since changed printers and do not use this one anymore.

I bought this mp190 canon printer scanner about 1 year ago and I have been buying ink cartriges for ever since. I has black ink and color ink in it. one of them is out all of the time. I should have gotten the cheap one. Sometimes you can nearly buy a new printer for the price of the two ink cartriges.

my canon printer never worked . i bought it from walmart and i cought a good sale. i never  used canon products befor ,but i always thought that canon was a good name and that they made good working products.but i am unhappy with this product .my conon printer came with a hand book to help metroubleshoot the problem , however i am unable to find the problem.the paper is aligned i had a hp all in one color copier  on two different occasions and i was very happy.i upgraded my computor to a vista windows and my printer was no longer compatible to my printer .i will go online and get some help and if in fact the problem is because of something that i did wrong i wil come back and change my review and and some more stars to the rating.

We purchased our Canon MP190 PIXMA for my online classes. It has wonderful pictures, and copies, but used a lot of ink. It has the ability to print pictures, but I haven't used it for that purpose yet. I have to use it a lot to make copies of assignments for my classes. It is also awesome for making copies of coloring pages for the kids. It just uses a lot of ink, and the ink is expensive to buy when you are on a limited income. As far as picture quality it is top notch. It came recommended by another customer at the store who was there to purchase more ink for his copier. I do not regret purchasing this copier, I just wish the ink didn't cost so darned much. You can copy, print, scan with this machine. I didn't want one that faxed, but they had one of those also. I have had my copier for a little over a year, and all in all, I am happy with our decision to purchase the one recommended instead of the higher priced one with the higher ink cartriges.

Before purchasing Canon PIXMAMP190 we had laser printer, which was very expensive and the cartridges for that printer were way too expensive! We decided that we had to stick to another printer, which does not cost a fortune and found Canon PIXMAMP190. The price was so low, that it seemed too good to be true. My husband and I decided to give this printer a try. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the printed material, the speed, the scanning and copying operations. It is compact, does not require a lot of space, it is very easy to operate and it meets all our printing needs. Besides, being multi-functional is a huge plus of this model. You do not need to purchase additionally a scanner, a copy and fax machines (and spend a lot of money), because this printer is All-In-One! Another advantage of this printer is that it can print using only black ink at grayscale mode when the color ink is out. You do not have to buy color ink, unless you need it. Most printers just do not work this way! And the price of this printer is unbeatable! I would definitely recommend this product. It's a winner!

In todays economy we have to budget what we buy. I have found that if you are looking for a great low cost printer this would be it. The PIXMA MP190 made by Cannon is just what you need if your budget is tight. If you are looking for a all in one print station that is affordable has great quality and dependability I suggest that you try it out. My family is conected with 3 pc's and a lap top we are printing people and there is nothing slow about this product. We have rarely found ourselves waiting on a print project. The ink it carries lasts for a long time and is the right price when ink is running low. We have tried other printers in the past and found that the ink costs more than buying a new printer that has ink in the bundle. So if you are just a collage student looking for a new printer fax and copier to get the project done this is surely the way to go. If you are in a pinch and need to get a project done in a hurry this product is for you.

The Cannon MP190 is the best scanner/printer I ever had! It is compact and attractive in appearence, easy to use, and does it all. It is an all-in-one color, quality photo printer that also scans to print or to file, makes copies on paper or saved to a file on your computer. As an online student, I don't know how I ever survived without it! I can scan the textbook into my computer for easy reference, and then access it while completing assignments without having to constantly drag out the heavy textbook. I can save, eMail, and/or print off professional looking papers and reports with ease. My life just got a whole lot easier!
