While the cvs brand straightener works, it doesnt work that well. If you haveto straighten from the root (if you have very curly, wavy hair) then I wouldn't reccomend buying this product unless you are low on money and cant afford name brand. It takes me almost 2 hrs after heating up to actually straighten my hair. (which is a little past my shoulders)
