Turkey. Fried. Cajun Style. Need I say more?

I couldn't believe my eyes the last time I was shopping for lunchmeat. I wanted something new, so when I saw Butterball Cajun Style Deep Fried Turkey Breast Lunchmeat, I just HAD to buy it. I love Cajun food, I love turkey, and who wouldn't want to try a lunchmeat that says it's deep fried? Unbelievably, **Butterball Cajun Style Deep Fried Turkey Breast Lunchmeat **is actually fried. I thought it would be a gimmick by them making it *taste *deep fried, but the label does say, "This product is fully cooked in an oven and then fried in vegetable oil to enhance color and flavor." Sounds interesting, right? When eaten by itself, I would probably give this lunchmeat a 3-star rating. It does taste good; more flavorful than regular turkey, but I notice a slightly sweet taste. The sweetness isn't overpowering or anything, but it is noticeable. Beyond that, you taste a salty seasoning that isn't necessarily taste "Cajun", but it does taste good. When eaten in a sandwich, it somehow loses that slightly sweet component, and just becomes a more flavorful turkey lunchmeat. Surprisingly, this "deep fried" lunchmeat is somehow low in fat and calories. The label says that it's 97% fat free - it contains 1.5g of fat and only 60 calories per serving (7 slices). **Butterball Cajun Style Deep Fried Turkey Breast Lunchmeat **is available in both thick sliced and extra thin sliced. I bought extra thin sliced and liked them very much. If it weren't for the slightly sweet flavor that I notice when I eat it out of the bag, I would probably give this product 5 stars.
