I have now been on this wonderful prescription pain patch for 7 days. Butrans Patch is a 7 day regimen. The first day I had nausea and that subsided. I developed an allergic reaction to my previous medications and my Pain Management doctor decided to try this one. I am so happy that he did! I have been suffering from chronic pain for over 2 years. I have not had this much relief from any of my previous medications. I went from averaging daily around a 5 and peaking to about an 8. I have not experienced a day over a 5, and I was very active that day. I have felt closer to normal than I have since this all began. So I am definitely pleased and hope that my body system continues to accept this medicine and not develop a sensitivity to it. It is going to bring my life back. This medicine is for long term, chronic pain. It is not for acute or post op pain. It is also not for mild pain. It is only indicated for moderate to severe pain. It is available by prescription only.
