My Dogs LOVE the Buster Cube

5

I got a Buster Food Cube quite a few years ago as a Christmas gift from a friend of mine and it's been a huge hit with the dogs ever since. They go crazy for it, knocking it all around the room. I love the fact that they have to work at it to get the food/treats out. It's a great idea for dogs who eat their food to fast, just fill the Buster Cube with their normal amount of food and let them work to get their meal. My one complaint is that the Buster Cube does make a lot of noise when the dogs play with it downstairs on the hard wood floor and it does make it a bit harder for the dogs to get the food out so they normally play with it upstairs on the carpeting. I also like to fill the Buster Cube up with treats and give it to the dogs before I leave the house so the dogs can play with it while I'm not there. That way they aren't getting into anything else in the house and actually do something instead of laying around the house all day.

Overall, I love the idea of the product. We have a dog that eats way to fast, so we bought this to put her food in. It was great, as far as slowing her down with eating, and she truly enjoyed it. It was great as far as being adjustable for different size food pieces. However, after a short while we could not get the inner piece out to refill it. That is frustrating when your trying to feed the dog. I figured it was a "flawed" one, so we got another one, but we had the same problem. It is actually on the counter, I plan on contacting the company, but keep forgetting. If it hadn't gotten stuck, this would definitely be our pick for a "feeder" (as we call it - the dog knows to go get her "feeder" at meal times). However, based on our experience, I can't recommend it. You do also have to be aware that it will possible nick furniture/walls due to the hard material it is made from. However, we were willing to chance this when it worked properly because it was the best around for using food in it. Most others let food out way too quickly. I sure hope they improve this - they are onto a great product, it just need tweaks!

My Dog Absolutely Loves Her Buster Cube

4

Two of my dogs will play with the buster cube for hours even when all the food is gone. The other one couldn't figure out how to use it no matter how many times you showed her. I would recommend only letting your dog use this outside because it is noisy and can damage your wall. However, I still like this product because it keeps your dog busy and provides good mental stimulation and physical exercise. It is also very entertaining to watch your dog play with a buster cube. Once they figure out how to work it they will nudge it with their nose, paw at it, and kick it. One of my dogs will even pick it up by the corner to get it out in the open if it gets stuck somewhere.

My dog LOVES this thing!

The Buster Cube is a wonderful toy that keeps my active dogs occupied.  Put treats or regular dog food in the opening, turn it a few times to get the kibble into the interior, and let your pups have at it.  It takes some dogs a while to figure it out - and I have one who never did and is not interested.  She looks at my other dogs like they are nuts when they are kicking the cube around.  My boys love the thing - they push it with their noses and kick it with their feet.  My smartest boy picks it up and carries it to his crate where he has figured out the smaller space gets him more treats with less effort!  Depending on the treat size, it can take from 10 to 30 minutes for my dogs to empty the cube.  And boy, is it durable!  Scratches all over it but not one nick, dent or crack in all the times it's been used - going on 3 years now.  One drawback is that it's quite noisy to have it mauled indoors - and it can leave marks on walls if it has enough force (which my big boys are certainly capable of producing).  Oh, and it's also rather difficult to clean.   I got it apart once with my fingers but never again.  If water gets into it with treats, they swell up and don't come out (found this out when it landed in a water bowl).  But overall, I highly recommend this toy for dogs longing for something to do. Flavor Selection Wonderful because I choose the flavors. duh.

Buster Cube Is Our Dogs Favorite Toy

5

The Buster Cube is considered a high value treat by our dogs. We use the Buster Cube to keep our dog's minds engaged and busy when we cannot entertain them. It has gotten so that our dogs ask for the Buster Cube, they love it so much. It allows the dog to use his mind to solve the problem of how to get the food out of the cube. We started our dogs on the Buster Cube when they were puppies, and it has remained a favorite of theirs throughout the years and they are now 11 years of age. It is only given once or twice a week, to keep it a special treat. Today's dogs don't have to use their minds as much as their ancestors did so it is up to us, as their caretakers, to help them challange their brains. As a person who works with dogs on a daily basis, I know that a dog with a job is a happy dog. Initialy, show the dog how to use it by pushing it around the floor. Allow the dog to explore it and help him find the tidbits that you filled it with, then step aside and let him solve the problem. Result: happy dog

Well worth the price

I got the Buster Food Cube for my chihauhau, Lexie, about 8 months ago. She used to eat her food so fast it would make her sick. The Buster solved that problem. The small size cube holds a little over half a cup of small sized puppy chow. As Lexie rolls it across the floor, the food falls out one piece at a time. She learned the first day how to work it and now it only takes her about 10 minutes to empty the cube. The only problem I found with the cube is that it doesn't work too well on hardwood floors. It slides instead of rolls. But we put it on the bed and it rolls fine there. It's made of durable hard plastic. Lexie is an avid chewer, but she hasn't even made a dent in the cube. After 8 months it's still in perfect condition, except for a little dirt. It's easy to take apart and clean. And it's easy to adjust the amount of food that comes out. I would recommend this for anyone who owns a dog with eating problems.

The Buster Food Cub 5" is the dog boredom buster

5

I have owned a Buster Food Cube 5" since 1997 when we got a giant breed Leonberger puppy.  The Food Cube is a very durable, safe, non-toxic dog toy which definitely comes in handy when you are attempting to keep your puppy or dog occupied.  The Buster Food Cube has rounded corners for safety (you don't want it rolling into your furniture or worse yet, your ankles) and it actually looks like a large dice.  It comes in a variety of colors and sizes, depending on the size of your dog.  Because I bought the Buster Cube for a giant breed, I bought the large size.  There is a hole in the top which has variable size openings for the treats/food and you may adjust the size just by placing your finger in the hole and turning gently. When my dog was a puppy, I put puppy food or puppy treats in the Buster Cube, but when she got older, I switched to lo-cal treats or lo-cal food.  Although I lost my Leo Dottie in 2006, we now have another Leonberger and Kya LOVES her Buster Cube.  Kya rolls it all over the house and I use lo-cal food in the Cube.  Needless to say, the Buster Cube is well worth the money and is also washable.  Hope your dog likes it as well as mine does!

If you have an energetic dog, you should have a Buster Cube!

5

I have two young dogs that are just over 1 year old.  They are both high energy just given their ages.  They are 25 and 30 lbd dogs, so by size they are considered small or medium.  Don't let the size fool you!!!  They are aggressive chewers with a ton of energy!  My Rat Terrier needs to be kept busy and loves a challenge.  I purchased the Buster Cube with little to no expectations. Boy was I wrong!  As soon as we got it home, we filled it with some of his kibble.  It took him a few tries to figure out how it worked but once he did it was great! Our Rat Terrier is able to gobble his food down in a metter of minutes.  But with the Buster Cube it took him about 45 minutes to get his dinner.  This aides in his digestion and is so much healthier for him.  In addition to it being healthier for his digestion, it helps to keep him busy. When he was finally done with getting his treats out of the Buster Cube, he was full and content.  The Buster Cube satisfied his hunger and his need to figuere out puzzles.  I am going to purchase another one for my other dog!
