I was a little wobbly at first. I started with 7.5 mg morning and night with food. Normal things like using my phone catching a bus we're difficult because I was bumbly. Like I couldn't quite coordinate things like normal. This was a little scary. The fact it was having an effect even though I felt off was encouraging. Not so bad that I wanted to stop. At around day five I started to have normality for a few hours at a time. Day 7 I felt normal. No side effects. I've heard it doesn't work for everyone but if it does work you are lucky because it has the least side effects of anti anxiety medication. I'm so grateful that it worked.

I took Buspar for years after I needed something that was safe for pregnancy, etc. It does a pretty decent job of keeping anxiety at bay. I like that it is mild and if you miss a dose, you don't feel terrible. Actually I have missed several doses and don't feel like garbage. I took a low dose - just 20mg at night. My dr wanted me to take it in the morning, but I found that it made me have that same disconnected, over tired, out of it feeling like if you took benedryl and didn't lay down. But taking it at night worked out just fine for me. Buspar really helped with my irritability and helped somewhat with my anxiety. I just recently started taking zoloft because my anxiety was getting out of control and causing other health issues. I miss the buspar. If you have mild anxiety or irritability, I highly recommend it as something mild to take without a bunch of nasty side effects, or "withdrawl" symptoms. It is also a class B (same as tylenol) so it is pretty safe to take.

I have had anxiety for as long as i can remember but I never thought of it as unusual or as a medical concern. This summer I started having unexplained nausea and vomiting and stomach pains. My doctor ruled out everything from ulcers to an enlarged spleen and none. During our many talks she discovered that I had pretty bad anxiety and before she referred me to a gastrointestinal specialist she wanted to rule out anxiety as the cause. She started me on a Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI) Zoloft. It didnt help at all. Next we tried increasing the dose and she put me Zofran and Prilosec and Zantac for nausea and they didnt help either. Finally she put me on Buspar 7mg twice a day for a wekk and then 7mg in the AM and 14mg at night for a week and then 14mg twice a day. It has totally helped my anxiety and my nausea and pains are gone!! The Buspar does make me kinda loopy about 30 mins after i take it for about 15 mins I get flushed and "fuzzy" but it is well worth it! The SSRI does not work very well without something like this that makes the serotonin and dopoamine in your body stronger so ask about it for anxiety!

I have had a mild case of depression in the past. Also Do have anxiety,so when my physician perscribed me  Buspirone,I was feeling better,and more relaxed after a few weeks.My crankiness subsided,and my depression as well. Now every day that goes by I have less and less depressing thoughts,and my temper is almost gone down mellow to a point, that others aroud me see a definite change in my behavior.I reccomend this medication to anyone who has anxiety,and I must add,that it might take a while,a few weeks to kick in,but it has benefits,to help releive stress and tension.There are no noticable side effects taking this medication,and twice a day is not much of  a problem for me.I also am on a lower dosage than the maximum perscribed amount, and that leaves an available increase if so needed to level off. One last item, this medication is NON- narcotic, so it is non addictive and people who try this,and feel it doesnt do as it does for me,it is fairly easy to drop the regimen.
