Initially I purchased the Bush Salinas Mission Desk & Hutch to hide the various wires coming from my desktop PC and it has become the center of attention in my living room. The storage compartment provides excellent ventilation for my tower while concealing numerous wires even when I have the door closed. The pull out keyboard tray is very smooth, but I wish there was something to lock it in place because it retracts very easily with very little force. The desk is very sturdy and I was surprised that it could hold a 27 inch monitor and the hutch without shaking when I lean on it with both arms. The hutch is also very sturdy and has become a place to house my mail, books, movies, and anything computer related. I haven't the shelves weight capacity, but it can definitely store a significant amount of items in each cubbyhole. The only downside I have about this desk is that it scratches easily. I have plenty of nicks and dents on the desk from simply writing with a pen on paper or dropping my keys from a small distance. I would definitely recommend the Bush Salinas Mission Desk & Hutch because it is a solid piece of furniture that has a classy appearance, functionality, and very well crafted.
