The Bottom Line: For some unknown reason, Burt's Bees Honey and Shea Body Butter changed its formula and while it used to be a wonderful, thick body butter, it is now a much thinner, less moisturizing version. I probably will not purchase it again. When I bought Burt's Bees Honey and Shea Body Butter for the first time a few years ago, I absolutely LOVED the formula. It had a rich, thick and creamy texture that moisturized the heck out of my skin and made it feel silky soft after use. I also loved the honey scent. But the formula has been completely changed, and it is now much thinner, almost like a regular lotion, and much less moisturizing. The scent is still nice, even if slightly different. Scent I love the scent and the new formula scent still smells quite lovely, even if different from the original version, with a great honey and almond scent. Absorption The much runnier and thinner version does get absorbed much faster than it used to, but I feel it also does not moisturize nearly as well as the old formula. Effectiveness It does an okay job of moisturizing, and because it is no longer a real "butter" type of lotion, it also will not re-hydrate your skin as effectively, especially if you have very dry skin.

I used to use Burt's Bees quite a lot, but the products I used to use were replaced with the ones that I rarely ever heard of. This product definitely is not one of Burt's Bees's best. Smell-wise, and efficiency-wise, it isn't all that good. I feel like it doesn't absorb into my skin, and I have to rub it in for long periods of time to actually get it in. Scent I absolutely HATE the smell. It smells like some kind of weird medicine mixed with a little bit of honey. I only got through half of the jar before I couldn't stand the smell anymore. Whenever I open it, it just makes me nauseous. I'm sure others would enjoy the smell, but for me personally, it's horrible. Come to think of it, a lot of Burt's Bees products have been getting kinda "funky" lately. Absorption This lotion takes forever to massage into my skin. I assumed it wouldn't take long since it's not as thick as other body butters, but I guess I was wrong. Effectiveness After absorption, my skin was pretty moisturized, but I felt that I had to keep reapplying this throughout the day to keep it that way.

I received the Burt's Bees Honey and Shea Butter from my Sister n law in a Christmas Gift Basket she gave me for Christmas. I previously asked her what she was using because the lotion she was using that day smelled amazing and I love shea butter so when she told me it was Burt's Bees body butter I couldn't wait to have my own. I used some of hers that day on my hands and wow it left them feeling so soft and touchable. I was so excited when she purchased this gift for me. I fell in love with all of the Burt's Bees items she had in the basket but the body butter was my favorite and still is one of my most favorite Burt's Bees. I love the natural ingredients. It is a bit expensive, it would be great if they had coupons, but I still can't find a coupon for this brand. Scent The scent of this shea body butter was amazing. I love wearing it. I get so many compliments on it. Effectiveness I find this shea body butter highly effective. It leaves my skin feeling soft and leaves it smelling even better.

I work with my hands constantly, I'm a busy mom and have a multitude of pets. Burt's Bees Shea Butter has restored my hands to a brand new state! I'm so pleased with the performance. I've tried so many products and none have worked so well as Burt's Bees. I began with using it only on my hands but after seeing the benefits I began using it on my elbows, knees, well just about anywhere I have dry patches. It is so effective but not oily I have even put it on my face and it did not break me out! My cuticles are softer and as a result I do not get splits in them anymore. Being a stay at home mom I do a lot of house work. I tend to get sores on my hands and fingers. But since I've been using Burt's Bees with Shea my hands feel great I do not get sores on my hands anymore and my husband enjoys holding my hand. Scent I love the smell of Burt's Bees it is pleasing sand aromatic Absorption Burt's Bees rubs right in and is not greasy or oily Effectiveness My skin showed dramatic signs of improvement within the first three uses

I found this on sale in a store and decided to try it: my impressions are mixed. I love that is both paraben and pthalate free - that was very important to me. With ingredients like sunflower oil, glycerin, shea butter and aloe, it's also pretty moisturizing. instead of being a thick goopy body butter, this one is a almost solid and goes on like a thin silky film. very cool. could be my super dry skin, haha, but it gets absorbed super quickly, leaving no sticky residue, no chalky film, no visible layer at all. all very nice. but the smell, oh the smell! it has this super strong - and i mean strong - fragrance added on to it, which you can smell even with the box closed. put it on your hands and everything around you smells of the perfume. it does dissipate fast - that's good - so you're clothes and bed aren't left smelling of this for days after. but still, the initial fragrance is so strong, it's like an assault on the senses. not for the allergic/sensitive.

I was given the Burt's Bees Honey and Shea Butter Body Butter as a gift when I announced I was pregnant. This lotion has been a lifesaver! It is thick but goes in quickly. I have used it all over my body; it is especially helpful to my overly dry areas like knees and elbows. I have also used it on my tummy as my baby bump has gotten bigger. Not only has this lotion helped to ease the dry, itchy skin that results from an ever-growing belly, but it has also helped keep my stretch marks at bay. I have used tons of lotions and creams, but this is perhaps the first one that has done everything I hoped for without irritating my skin. It has a light, clean fragrance that is not overpowering. It's thick and really moistens my skin. It doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky or tacky. It might be a little on the pricey side, but it's well worth it. I have definitely gotten the money's worth out of this product!
