BUMPITS

1

Bumpits did not work for me I wish I would have read reviews before wasting all the money I did on them. My hair is not thin and not short and I found my hair tangled in them could not get them to stay in my hair and just was al together frustrated with them. A waste of money for me and just taking up drawer space. I would not recommend them to anyone

Gives me so many more hair options!

I was skeptical at first, as with most infomercial items, but I waited to buy the bumpits when they arrived at my local Rite-Aid store. I do have to tell you that there is a small learning curve, but I did quickly master volume and height to my ponytails and updos. The last time I wore the larger bumpit, my boyfriend couldn't stop raving about how great my hair looked. Today I am wearing the small bumpit for a "poof" at the front of my hair. I feel that I have been given 3 or 4 new ways to wear my hair. I would probably not wear it in my hair if I didn't pull it up, I'd be afraid it would fall out, and truthfully, the bump is a little large. I am very happy with the results, however I do have finer hair, so I am constantly asking my daughter "Is my bumpit showing"

good product

First off I do not think this product is for everyone, those with extremely fine hair or really tight curly hair seem to have a harder time with this product. I myself have medium length wavy dark hair. I think the fact that my hair isn't stick straight helps it cling better to the little teeth on the bump it. I got the brown color and it blends well into my hair. I was very skeptical about this product because it just didn't seem like it would work well or it might me "too much" for everyday use, but I found it pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it and it stays in place pretty well. I have used it all day long and with just a headband and a couple of bobbi pins holding it in place and it has stayed put. But again I think my hair types helps, as I have pretty thick hair. I personally do not like to use a ton of hairspray and this product still works just fine, but I could see where someone with fine hair might have to.

Bumpit or Dump It?

1

Unfortunately, I had to dump it.  I was so excited when I got a Bumpit for my White Elephant gift exchange.  I was so worried that someone would steal it but now that oversized calculator is sounding really good.  I noticed a lot of people said that it did not work well on their thin hair.  I have thick asian hair and it does not stay well in my hair either.  I thought that maybe it was because my hair is so straight and pretty silky.  I teased me hair and used a bunch of hair spray but it still would not stay in place and would slide down my hair after just a few minutes.  You could also see it through my hair even though it is so thick.  I got one that matched my hair color, but you can still see it if you were looking at me and trying to figure out if I were wearing a Bumpit.  I tried all of the different sizes, but the result was pretty much the same.  I thought that if Snookie could figure it out, I should be able to, but it just didn't work.

Bumpits bump, but they look stupid.

Bumpits Hair Volumizing Inserts are an incredibly useless item. They specialize in "volumizing hair," and yet they work the worst with people who have thin hair. They wiggle and wobble, and don't stay put at all. And if you try to get them to stabilize, you'll find yourself spending more time than you should styling your hair (which the bumpits was supposed to do for you in the first place - it was marketed as being an "easy and simple" way to style your hair). It also becomes very obvious to people that you're wearing one of these in your hair, which kind of defeats the purpose, since it shows people that you're insecure about your hair and require the use of one of these things. And if you don't want people to notice it, you'll end up constantly checking a mirror and fudging around with your hair to make sure that the bumpit didn't move or shift or start showing. A very inconvenient product that doesn't help at all.

Bumpits are overrated and useless.

volumizing inserts I think not. my hair has thinned alot over the years and I thought the Bumpits sounded like just what I needed. I had seen alot of advertiments about them. They were cheap so I figured what have I got to lose. They make it out like you just put one in behind a section of hair and poof you have well a poof. i was really happy to get my Bumpits in the mail. I read the instructions and my bubble of happiness was popped.the manual stated you are to backcomb or tease or rat or whatever you want to call it the hair.i already knew I could get lots of volume by backcombing my hair. Teasing and backcombing makes a rats nest of your hair not to mention a mess to try to brush out. I was very dissapointed at how tiny the Bumpits are.they look like they belong in a childs head. The manual also said in order to reach the volume they falsely advertise to use more than one. I had trouble keeping one of these silly things in forget trying two.In the junk pile goes the Bumpits.

waste of money

I saw the commercial for this product on late night TV.  I knew I had to try it.  One trick I've learned about purchasing "As Seen on TV" products is that they will charge you an arm and a leg for shipping and "processing."  And even if the product has a money-back guarantee, they will not refund you for said arm and leg for shipping and processing.  So I always buy "As Seen on TV" products at brick and mortar stores.  This way, I can return the product if they do not work (which typically ends up being the case), and I do not have to pay for shipping and processing.  I bought this product at Bed Bath and Beyond.  I was so excited to try this product, but I was so utterly disappointed with the results.  I have a LOT of very thick hair.  I am often told that I should be a hair model.  Even still, when I positioned the bump it comb as instructed, the comb was still visible underneath ALL of my hair. It also did not stay in place.  The teeth are waaay too short to actually grab hold of your hair effectively.  I took those suckers back.  Too bad, I really wanted them to work.

So sad, So mad...The Bumpits crushed my dreams.

I seen these things on a infomercial and I was like seriously??? This actually made a little excited to try, because they seemed fool proof and looked like they took a short time. I actually purchased these at "As Seen on TV" store in the mall and they came up to like 21 bucks. I went home and they included 1 XL, 2 L and 2 Mediums and 2 mini's. I have thick hair...I teased my crown like it said on the instructions, and I placed the bumpits, I pinned for security and sprayed... Wahhh-Lahhh I looked faboulous (well for the first hour). I walked around I did my daily activities, Ugh I started to feel this thing slide around. I ran to my room to adjust it, what do you know my hair had slipped from the combed bumpits and I tease again and put back on but it slipped. I'm already irritated. I continued to use these things for another 2 months and all of a sudden the teeth broke. Ugh I was so disappointed because I thought wow another thing to write to the list of false promises on TV Boo! This isn't for someone with alot of hair. I just say save your money and go and buy a teasing comb and aquanet and a few bobby pins.

Good Idea - Poor Execution

1

The idea of bump-its is a good one, it's just that the execution of the idea into the actual product is terrible.  In theory, the little plastic "arrows" are supposed to keep the bumpit in place & then you have to tease your hair over the bumpit so the teeth don't show through.  My complaint has to do with the "arrows" located on the bottom of the bumpit that rests against your head.  They are supposed to keep the bumpit in place, but for the life of me I could never get the damn thing to stay put & I have very thick hair.  After about 20 minutes I gave up & took it back to the store.  The company could easily fix the "arrow" problem by re-designing the product so it can be clipped to the hair, allowing the bumpit to stay in place a lot better.

Very unsatisfied

The bumpit insert is easy to use except you cannot get that round shape that you see on the box or in the infomercial.  You always see the "hard edge" shape on top of your head and you can tell you have something in your hair.  I have thick hair and wanted to try the bumpit so that I avoid teasing my hair instead I found that I still needed to tease my hair with bumpit insert in order to avoid that edge look.  I may as well not use it.
