The brother fax machine is a quality product.  In my office we have had several Sharps and other brands of fax machines but no one has been able to top the Brother fax.  It uses plain paper so it is easy.  With one touch controls, memory and stored numbers with automatic redial if not connected. It makes life easier.  When it still can't connect to another fax, it will print a report and you will know if did not succeed.  Easy for those who can't wait all day to confirm a fax was successful.  I liked it so much at work, I bought one for my home-- now i am not at the office 15 hrs, I can finish at work and fax it to myself.

We have had our Brother IntelliFax 2820 for a few years now. We have used it to receive faxes and print all of our documents. The print quality is good, and the printer cartridge lasts a long time. We can get a couple thousand printed pages out of each printer cartridge. It holds a reasonable amount of paper and lets us know when it is Receiving Data, or has a paper jam, or is low on toner. Sometimes, however, it will jam the paper in the drum after it has printed one side or printed several copies. This really only happens when it has printed several copies. Another thing that has happened with this printer it that if it is turned off, it will jump offline from the print server and we will have to reset it. This may not be due to the printer, but to the print server. I've also noticed that when you use a different, more economical, printer cartridge, the printed documents aren't quite as high quality. So if you are trying out a different brand of printer cartridge to save on cost, you may have a lower quality print.
