We go the Breville Panini Maker for Christmas this year. We have used it several time, and have used our inlaw's several times as well. I really like it as a Panini Maker, especially the Basil, Mozzarella and Tomato sandwiches with basalmic vinagrette. Worth it right there. I like that I can make a "grilled cheese sandwich" without all the butter and grease. My in-laws have used it to cook chicken as well and have liked it for that. I have not personally tried it though. We have tried hamburgers and I accidentally over cooked the burgers by quite a bit because I didn't take into consideration the fact that the grill cooks on both sides, cutting cooking time in half. A great feature, don't get me wrong, just not something you want to forget about when you are acutally doing the cooking. Overall we really like our panini maker, it isn't really a necessity, but if you get the chance it is a pretty nice little luxury. It cleans pretty well and the lid can be adjusted for height as well.

I take a sandwich for lunch to work almost every day. I was looking for something to spice things up a little. I love eating at sandwich shops such as Panera or Atlanta Bread Company. I especially love the hot paninis. There's just something about the cheese oozing out the sides of a sandwich that makes my mouth water! I knew that I had to have my own panini maker. I received this Breville Panini Grill as a Christmas gift, and I sure have put it to use! It is super easy to use, right out of the box. Plug it in, and wait for the green light to come on. Get your bread and anything else you want and stack it up, then close the lid. Slide the indicator to "toast" and and wait for that green light to come back (A red light stays on during the heating process and cooking process). Bingo! Your sandwich is ready. The only complains I would have about it are as follows: 1. The classic "panini grill" ridges are only on the top plate. So, one side of your sandwich has grill marks and the other does not. 2. Even after trying butter sprays on the top of the bread, the sandwich comes out slightly soggy. Not as crispy as I would like it, but not so soggy that it's something I wouldn't want to eat. All in all, it's quick and it's super easy to use and clean. Invest in this and skip Panera!

I got this as a wedding gift.  I just did not think I would necessarily need one but now that I have one it is great.  I never knew how much I would enjoy warm sandwices like this.  It makes them so easily.  There are alot of things I like first that it is so easy to clean.  Secondly it seems to get them to just the right temperature each time toasted on the outside.  It has made making items like Grilled Cheese which used to be near impossible and I would always burn and never be able to even melt the cheese, now is so simple and easy.   I also like the lines are on the sandwiches and it alway seems healthier and it works better than other pannini it doesnt dry everything out like other ones.  Now It makes it so I ca multitask while making a hot sandwich where before I had to sit over the pan and watch and wait.  And ofcourse it would still end up burning.  It is a little pricey but alot of stuff by Breville so definitely because  I got as a gift it was easier.

Okay, so I will say it at the very beginning.  The only thing that I do not like about my Breville panini grill is that it is a total pain to clean.  Seriously- it takes longer to clean this thing than it does to make something.   But- that being said, it is totally worth it.  It makes the most delicious grilled sandwiches ever!  They are grilled to perfection.  I love that you can set the actual temperature on the grill too.  That is just so stinking handy!  We also use this for tons of things other than just a panini grill.  We use it a little like a George Foreman grill, only it is a lot nicer and way sturdier.  We grill burgers on it all the time.  I have also grilled chicken breasts, pizza and a few other things.  When we were living in an apartment and not allowed to have a grill, this was just a lifesaver!  It cooks the meat up fast and well and you can eat in a hurry.  I highly recommend this product, even if you don't use it for panninis.
