My company owned this Breville Ikon Espresso Machine Coffee Maker for more than two years and I used to operate this machine everyday. The product looked very classy and had a steel body and finish that made me feel it a pleasure to use it. The coffee taste was beyond excellence and the fragrance was strong and mesmerizing. I used to have at least 3-4 cups of coffee (cappuccino) daily and used to enjoy my experience of using this product. The features of this product included, a head elevation having a 4.5 inch clearance, full size mugs can be accommodated and one can prepare Americano, cappuccino and caf latte drinks as well which were very tasty. The control panel of this machine was very easy to operate and it had easy eject filters that helped one to interchange the three filters like single, double and pod filters. The product also had with expresso cups. This machine was later on replaced with a bigger one but the product worked well till the last day.

I received this for Christmas** 2 YEARS AGO** and it still works just as well as the day I got it. This machine performs well and looks great at the same time. Clean lines with a stylish water chamber that is visible from the front, easily removes for cleaning and refillling. There is a storage drawer behind the drip tray to store the tools that come with the machine so there is no counter clutter. Machine comes with three filter baskets. One for single shots, double shots, and coffee pods. Never tried the pod. But it pours fabulous shots. I read online that there was an off brand filter basket that can be purchased separately to enhance the shots. I purchased it and found that there really was not diff. The exclusive "double wall crema system" that Breville pioneered with this model produces great crema with a nice golden hue. Some reviewers have called it a "false crema" but is it really even possible to have a false crema? I have noticed that the machine performs consistently, however the grind of beans makes a significant difference. I use a very fine grind, closer to a turkish grind to pour fab shots. This machine is beautiful and the highest quality. It also steams well, it's a little loud but I haven't heard a quiet espresso machine in my lifetime yet. Brew Performance This machine has maintained constant pressure for over 2 years. Ease of Cleaning everything wipes down beautifully. The machine also came with a set of handy tools that fit away neatly beneath the water reservoir, so you never see them. There are a couple of tiny corners in the water reservoir that can be difficult to scrub unless you have a small enough brush; I recommend a small bottle brush. Ease of Use so easy. push a button. done. Design This is gorgeous. I love how it looks on the counter. The blue/clear water tank that displays in front gives a modern, clean feel against the stainless steel. Durability This has held up for over two years pefectly. NO regrets.

I love this machine! I've had it for a couple of years now and it makes the most fantastic cappucinos. It is a bit of an expensive intitial outlay but with the money I've saved from buying Starbucks, it's definitely paid for itself in spades...  I love the classic sleek look. I was very unfamiliar with Breville until I was using it at a family member's house and realized what a great product it was. I had to have it!

It all started when my daughter's fiancee arrived from Spain to live here temporarily with my son's household as  he waited to marry my wonderful daughter.Mario is a typical Spanish individual-He loves espresso with a passion.Since we have our kids eat at our hoem every Friday night my wife realized she had to get an espresso machine.Based on looks she chose  the Breville  cafe modena espresson machine.Yes it looks great and is nice and lighweight.But above all it makes a great cup of espresso coffee every time.Mario does not yearn for what he got in the coffeehouses he frequented in Madrid where he lived.He has found a great cup of espresso right here in New Jersey.The machine is  easy to operate and makes a cup of steaming hot espresso in mere minutes.It also can be used to make cappucino which we have not attempted to do yet and I bet that it makes a super cappucino.I never knew you could get an espresso maker which was not a giant looking formidable complexity.What a great find.

If you love expresso, the Breville BES400XL Ikon Espresso Machine is for you! I received this appliance as a gift and I have used it at least once a day ever since. It is stylish, easy to use, easy to clean and makes a delicious shot of expresso. The machine has enough of a clearance for full size mugs and can be used to make Americanos, Lattes, etc. The wand that makes foam by steaming milk is easy to use. You just need to remember to get rid run the wand first to get rid of the water before using it in the milk. My wife and I both love coffee and we use the double cup filter with two cups underneath to capture the twin streams of tasty dark liquid. The crema is always rich. The buttons are back lit and are used to control the extraction and the steaming. The double wall filters are easy to eject. There are three filters: single cup, double cup and pod. The only negative point that I can think of about this expresso machine is that it comes with only a cheap plastic tamper. However, this can be replaced.
