We received this Breville toaster as a gift and have been very happy with it thus far. It's a straightforward two slice toaster with nice controls, an LCD readout on the side, and a sleek, stylish, stainless-steel finish. It toasts nicely but it's important to note that if you toast with it continuously, it takes less and less time once its preheated to toast to the same degree so keep an eye out so things don't burn. The stainless finish is easy to clean and the crumb tray on the bottom is easy to remove for quick cleaning. Clearly there are less expensive two-slice toasters that can do the basics for less, but if you buy this Breville you won't be disappointed and will be pleased with a nice looking product that is not an eyesore on your countertop.

This toaster is great.  I really wanted a quality toaster to replace our old one.  This one is so pretty that I don't mind keeping it out on the counter.  It does sit the long way on the counter so it takes up more counter space than most toasters.  This toaster works a little too well so I keep the temp setting on only 3 or 4.  It has a nice digital screen for the numbers and a count down timer bar.  This bar is useful in the morning because this toaster beeps when it's done and pops up the bread.  It's quite loud and beeps four or five times.  If you don't want it to beep, you can hit the cancel button and it will pop up without beeping.  I can't find a way to turn off the alert.  You can also preview the toaster or bagel by pulling up on the handle when it's toasting.  If you put it back down it won't restart the timer.  It also has buttons to select what you are toasting ie bagel.  The first 5 or so times I used it, it hard a melting plastic smell but that has gone away.  The plug is quite big and easy to grasp.  One downfall of the plug is that if you have the toaster sitting right in front of it, it pushes the toaster out quite a ways from the wall.
