In the winter my office is extremely cold; it is on the third floor of the house and the furnace isn't powerful enough to force the heat up three floors. I started looking for a small space heater but was worried about it getting knocked over or potentially deadly fumes. When I saw this one and read the box it seemed like the safest one for my needs. I only ran it when I was in my office and didn't see a spike in my electric bill while I was using it. There was a built-in heater in the bathroom that stopped working a couple years ago; getting out of the shower to a cold bathroom is extremely unpleasant and I needed something to warm up the room while I waited for my silicone sleeve for my prosthetic leg to dry before I could put it back on. This worked perfectly and kept the room warm; I had it on the vanity when I was using it in the bathroom and only ran it for about a half hour when I would take a shower. This is one of the safest portable space heaters I have seen because there is an automatic shut off function if it gets knocked over. The grate on the front of it prevents burns but I would never leave this running in a child's room because you never know when they are going to try to put something in between the slats. This isn't loud when it is running but it does generate a decent amount of heat. I am kicking myself for not getting a couple more of these when they were on clearance at the end of winter because they are nice to have around to take the chill out of rooms that don't get a lot of heat from the furnace.

my mom bought this heater for us and we have had it for a long time, maybe like 5 or 6 years. i like it, it works really ood and makes me feeel warm, especially if i sit in front of it like its a fireplace or something. its like nice and toasty feeling. otherwise this heater is very small and cannot heat up a room or something. it might make small difference, but it can't be felt (unless the room is really small like the size of a jail cell or something). also, after like 4 years, its capabilities started to diminish and it is not as effective and strong in generate a strong force of heat as it once was. oh well, thats what you get for the price and size. i do like it cause its convienent to move around though.

The Boston Heater - 25964 is extremely efficient and easily warms a room. I've used this heater in a couple of different settings - at home and in the office. It's quiet enough to use in an office environment; it doesn't drown-out conversation or make it hard to hear when you're talking over the phone. It's small enough to fit under an office desk and can be placed by your feet. Or, if you have a big enough desk, like I did, I would actually just place it on top of my desk and aim it towards my upper body. It would heat my office space in a matter of 5-10 minutes. I've also used it in a room in my house and even with more space to heat, it did the job in a relatively short amount of time. It's powerful, but it's also safe. If it accidentally gets knocked over, the heater will shut itself off which gives me some peace of mind. I like the color and design as well, it can fit into different environments without standing-out.

I originally bought this heater for use in one of my bathrooms that doesnt get heat as well as other parts of my home. I would just put it on right as I was getting into the bath or shower and it would get the room nice and toasty warm. When getting out to dry off it would also keep the moisture down and help me get dry quickly. It is just the perfect size to put on a counter or a corner of a room. It blows out plenty of hot air..all the while the unit itself doesnt get get hot so as you dont have to worry about it being dangerous. The unit has a couple different ehat settings and also fan settings. This gives you great flexibility for all different heat levels. I have since ended up putting this unit in my garage for the winter to get the chill out when im doing work on my car or other projects. It does a good job even in the huge room like my garage. Bottomline- I am not afraid to leave this heater on for extended hours or even leave it alone. This is a fantastik buy.

I had to log on and share my thoughts on the Boston 25964 Fan Heater.  It's been a life saver this winter.  My office tends to be very cold in the winter, so I needed a little extra heat help and found it in this nifty little portable heater.  Has 3 different heat settings and a knob for fan strength.  My one negative here would be that the heater, even though it has the 3 settings only seems to run at one, and can be loud on that one.  However, I set this up on top of a file cabinet about 5 feet away and it just keeps the office (which isn't very big) at such a nice warm temperature.  The better part, is it has a button at the bottom of the heater.  As long as the heater is upright, the button is pressed and it functions.  However, if the heater falls over (a dangerous fire hazard) the button automatically depresses and heater shuts off immediately, until it is upright again.  Truly brilliant.

This is a nice heater that can be used by anyone. Small and compact. Hot or cold temperature settings. Quite running, not loud like some space heaters that our on the market. The nice feature on this heater, is if it is knocked over, picked up or tip it will automatically shut off. This is nice for use at a work place because of the auto shut off feature.
