best speakers ever, the sound is clear even when loud. i take it outside and it works great, i use my iPhone with this and i could listen for hours, best part, PORTABLE!!, great for outdoor family events, the family was impressed with this system. also charges phone when on it as well, best porches ever, even the price was right, I've had other so called portable sound docks and nothing compares

Excellent! I could never imagine such a loud clean and clear amount of sound from one little box. Battery life is excellent ,like 6 hours per battery .I have always liked Bose products and I couldn't be happier. This little radio jams unbelievable. Sound Quality wonderful full crisp sound created by Bose as usual perfect highs and lows that give you the impression of a stereo ten times as big. wonderful for jazz and good enough for hip hop. Bose sound is unbeatable there is nothing like this around. Performance Great performance like I said its Bose and ive never bought anything from Bose that wasn't great. Battery Life excellent Battery life like six hours per battery at near full blast and maybe ten hours at an easy listening volume although it can take like 4 hours to charge each one its overall well worth it. Durability quite durable hard plastic. hasn't broke on me yet. Ease of Use very easy to use just pop in your ipod or iphone or media player using an auxiliary cable and you can also control the music from the handy little remote. Design Nice design and compact size makes it easy to travel with anywhere.

I purchased this used from Craigslist, so it was an older model and was abused, but cheap. I contacted the local Bose store and for a small fee they refurbished it to almost new condition, and gave is a one year warranty. The battery life is amazing!! At almost full volume, my iPhone plays for 8 hours, obviously longer at a reduced volume. The sound quality was exceptional. I am not normally a Bose fan, but in this market, I would get either this one or the Bluetooth version everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. The bass performance might not push a glass off the table, but it is more than enough to feel in your chest. Having the auxiliary input is very helpful for my daughter's phone since I am the only one in the family smart enough to use an iPhone. The portability really makes the difference in being able to carry a party out to the pool instead of trying to find extension cords. If you can afford it and do not need the iPhone adapter, get the Bluetooth version, but this one serves great double duty by charging the iPhone while it is in the dock if the unit is plugged in. Sound Quality Base feels deep in the chest and the highs carry well

I have had my Bose Portable dock for 3 years. I use it everyday!. I could not live without it. The sound is incredible. It is pricey, but it is worth every penny. The only other item I use more is my ipod. Sound Quality Incredible sound from such a small device Performance It is still going strong Battery Life I have used it when the power went out for hours. The power lasts longer if you play the music lower. It lasted through 2 black outs. Durability I treat it carefully, but nver had a problem hauling anywhere I want. Ease of Use You just press on the upper or lower volume Design I have no idea how I get this much sound

I love my Bose SoundDock Portable iPod speakers. Sound is amazing. Size and portability were the deciding factors for my purchase and I have not been disappointed. I had a Kicker before the SoundDock and the size of that was a monster compared to the Bose.I use the dock daily, and wake up to the iPod as an alarm clock in the dock. The only drawback was that I had to send it in for a warranty repair about a month or 2 after purchasing it. The unit failed to power up or charge the battery. It was repaired under warranty with no cost to me. Bose paid shipping both ways and customer service was very good as well. All in all, despite the need for repair, I give this a 5 star review.

*EDITING To ADD: Turns out, I am ashamed to admit, this was Operator Error. My iPhone works perfectly with this system. My protective cover has to be removed, so that it can sit deeper on the dock. With the cover on, it works, it just doesn't have control over the iPhone via remote or the buttons on the dock. With the cover off, Pushed down further, it works like a dream. I am changing my review to read 5 stars!* ********************************************************************************************************************** I own the Bose SoundDock Portable, Model #043085, in Black. The box says, "Works with iPhones and most iPods." And to be fair, it does function. It just doesn't fully function, or always function well. When I use it with my iPhone 3GS, the remote control does not function at all, and neither do the volume controls on the side of the device. Because of that, the volume range is very limited. Too limited. And you have to physically manipulate your phone to change songs, change the volume, etc. However, when I use it with my iPod Nano, it's amazing. The remote works, all the controls work, and the sound quality is phenomenal. With the Nano, the machine really lives up to the Bose reputation. I truly love to listen to music on it. I noticed layers of background music that I had never noticed before in songs I've listened to hundreds of times. I can't say enough how wonderful the sound is with the Nano. Knowing how good it can be though, just makes the problems with compatibility for the iPhone that much more frustrating. I'm a yoga teacher, and I like to keep everything on my phone - my music, my schedule, my contact list, etc. It's a bummer that I now have to worry about downloading music onto both devices, and carrying both with me, since I can't just leave my phone at home and take my Nano instead. Bottom line - if you've got a Nano, it's a great purchase. If you only have an iPhone, it's definitely NOT worth the money. And for all other models, I'd say it's a gamble which sound you're going to get.

My husband and I were shopping at the outlets and stumbled upon the Bose outlet.  Typically this is my husbands store of choice, I usually want to fall asleep while I am in the store.  However, we had just acquired iPods and the appeal of the store changed -- it now served a purpose!  We had never seen the SoundDock up to that point and we were really impressed.  We knew that Bose had great sound, we were already owners of the Bose CD/Radio for about 7 years and we loved it.  We were especially impressed because it was portable, which allows me to take it into the kitchen and listen if I don't want to blast it throughout the house.  We were able to purchase ours refurbished, which saved up about 50-75.00.  I have no complaints about this product,  We have had it about 1.5 years and it is still going strong.  It has great, full sound and solved the issued of not having a stereo in every room of our house.  You won't be disappointed.

This beautiful speaker is sooooo convenient, we take it almost everywhere, camping, outdoor parties, gardening, on the porch....it outputs great sound and volume and is a great investment if you love to have music with you wherever you go. It IS expensive, but it has an internal, rechargeable battery so you are not always looking for D-batteries for similar devices. It is portable and does not need an outlet, so it is convenient for outdoor excursions. Sound quality is excellent, which you will not find with other ipod speakers, especially portable ones. This speaker is loud enough to play at parties, where this a lot of ambient noise. It even comes with a remote, so you can flip songs on your icon without even leaving your chair.  This speaker is also great around the house, it is small enough that it is not intrusive, and you can move it from room to room to provide music. This is the main reason we like it more than the traditional plug-in version - you are not forced to leave the thing in one spot and listen to music only in one room.

The first time that I heard a portable Bose Sounddock was at a wedding reception and the system was used as the background music. This system was completely adequate for the large gym that the reception was held in and the sound was beautiful. I have always heard that Bose is the very best for quality sound and now I am a believer. I use my portable sound dock every single day and the sound delights me every time. The battery holds a charge for quite a while depending on the volume of the music. Even when I am charging the sound dock I can listen to my music so it is not a problem when the charge runs out. The system is very easy to move from room to room which is what I do. The remote works very well from quite a distance and I do use the remote a lot. I really feel like I will use this system for years and if I do wear it out I will buy another one immediately. I highly recommend Bose and the portable sound dock.

I purchased the Bose SoundDock Portable about 3 years ago, and can honestly say that the sound is completely unmatched by any other docking system. I have used the Bose SoundDock portable for my iPod, iTouch, computer and even for sound for video gaming and it has never failed. I love that it has it's own rechargeable battery on the back so you can be charging it while you have it plugged into and outlet, and then unplug it and have music for hours just on the battery! It also charges your Ipod/Itouch while docking, which makes for a super convenient way to charge you mp3 player.  The sound quality of the Bose SoundDock Portable truly is amazing. That such a broad sound can come from such a small electronic, amazes me.  It also comes with a convenient remote control that not only controls the volume, but you can also skip tracks, etc, if you're using your iPod. The only drawback I can think of is that it is specific to Apple mp3 players, as far as the docking/charging/remote controlled skipping of tracks, etc. You can use other mp3 players, but you'll have to buy a cable to connect them.
