I am so unhappy with my experience

1

I was so happy to hear that blockbuster was going online, I immediately went to blockbuster.com, to become a member. I was a little disappointed to learn after I signed up that blockbuster.com was officially merging with dish. That took away a lot of the benefits that I enjoyed. I was no longer able to receive movies by mail because that service was discontinued. Instead, I had to go through Dish or stream online only. That was a terrible decision on blockbuster.com's part and it forced me to discontinue my membership and sign up with Netflix which is a lot cheaper. I really enjoyed blockbuster.com, before the merge. Too bad the customers were not considered. Ease of Use Streaming online was very easy to do. However, it became complicated when blockbuster.com merged with Dish. Once that happened, I ended my membership because it was too expensive and Netflix was much cheaper.

Call it a day, Blockbuster.

I've never actually felt pity for a business until I clicked on a banner directing me to a free trial of rentals at blockbuster.com. I think they need to just throw in the towel and accept defeat at this point because the website is just sad. The first problem I noticed was that they had little thumbnail images of popular movies that you could click on, but the pictures are blurry and cheap looking. I don't understand how they couldn't at least get decent images to advertise the movies they are expecting you to pay for. It just looks cheap, thrown together, and unprofessional. Secondly, every page takes a lifetime to load, I don't know it it's their servers or what but getting to anything on the site is like pulling teeth. There also doesn't seem to be a really cohesive organization to how they present the films once you do manage to get to a genre you like. The final nail in the coffin is the price just isn't competitive with other sites like hulu and netflix. This site is sad and needs to go away.

Money best spent elsewhere.

I would rate blockbuster's service as sub-par. The price is relatively fair - the service dfinetely is not. We signed up for blockbuster after we had Netflix for a whle. Mainly, because the price was a little bit cheaper and we were doing all we could to make financial cut backs. The movies come to your home but they are so slow that you end up only getting half the movies you used to get with another similar site. You end up overpaying anyway - because you don't get the same service. You can expect to receive about 4 dvd's a month which if you think about it - is quite ridiculous for the price you pay for the subscription. You'd be better off going another route.

I thought that their video game rental service would be great but the problem is that their selection is not good and their amount of stock for each video game is terrible. It seems like they have a very low amount of stock for each video game and because of this you can wait a very long time before you can get the game in your hands to play. And the time you wait, you can actually get the game for a very affordable price now. But they run a subscription service, but you are unable to get the game that you want for a month, so how is this fair? That's the service that they are running right now. They have a great deal to learn from GameFly. I think that Blockbuster will fade off completely unless they figure out how to solve this mess. Even their website lists the availability as unknown. How can you run a video game rental site with such poor tracking of your inventory?
