I am a filipina and ofcourse a meal will nit be a meal without a rice! So I am using this product to cook my rice and I would say its very easy to use and clean and a very good quality product.

This was giving to us as a gift. i was skeptical at first cause i've never used a rice cooker but I LOVE IT!! Hubby does also cause it's soooo easy to use. Rice come out GREAT!! Has a removable container that can go into the dishwaser. the lid you can see what is cooking and has a small hole for the steam to escape, Easy to make. you just push the lever down and it starts cooking. when rice is done, it automatically goes to the warm positon. That is nice so you know the rice won't be overcooked or if your gone, you don't come back to cold rice. I also use it to steam vegetables. This is so nice to have. I used to make rice on the stove and was always clumpy and sticky. Then i started using the boin in the bag rice and that was ok, but this rice come out so much better and you don't have to watch it cook.

The Black & Decker Rice Cooker is a wonderful kitchen aide. I had always been a much bigger fan of potatoes with my meals because I every time I ate rice I found it to be sticky and dry. The sticky in rice is not something I mind nearly as much as dry rice is hard for me to eat. Ever since I got the Black & Decker Rice Cooker for Christmas a year ago, I have come to enjoy rice just as much as potatoes with dinner. This appliance is absolutely fool proof. It comes with a cooker pot, a removable non stick container, a glass lid (with a riveted hole for appropriate steam escape), a hard plastic rice scooper, and a one cup measuring cup with 1/4 cup measurements. When you plug the rice cooker in to an outlet, it automatically defaults to the Warmer position. All you have to do to begin cooking your rice is to push the lever down. When the rice is cooked, the rice cooker returns to the Warmer function so your rice does not overcook or get cold before it is served. All you have to remember is to use a little more water than the usual 1 cup of rice to 1 1/3 cups of water for proper texture and consistency in your rice. I like to use a ratio of 1 cup of rice to 1 1/2- 1 3/4 cups of water. The first time I used only 1 1/3 cups of water and the rice did clump a little and burn at the bottom center of the cooker. The extra water makes all of the difference and produces perfect rice every time.

I bought the Black and Decker Rice Cooker and Steamer me and my family.  I have a big family and it cooks just enought for us, you can even cook small amounts too.  I could put the rice in the pot push down the cook button and it would stop cooking on its own when the rice was done.  My children can even use it, it is so easy to use.  It also steams veggies.  You put our veggies in the steamer basket turn it on and that is it.  So I really like this product for the cost and function.  It has a clear top on it so you can see your rice cooking or your veggies steaming.  Clean up is easy too.  It is dishwasher safe, the pot inside comes out so all you have to do is take it out wash it out and pop it in the dishwasher.  I would recommended this prouduct to anyone and I have also given it as a gift.  So, I give this product two thumbs up.
