I had this for only 2 years and have broken a plastic part which resulted in feeding a whole spool of line in one use. I am unable to find a replacement part. It has plenty of power, but for only a short time.

I would rate this item below avg.  Black and Decker has a solid brand name and has been around for a long time.  However, once again i hav efound the majority of their items to be sub par.  This trimmer is "OK".  It is a bit pricey for what you get.  The batteries can be expensive to purchase and trust me you will need to purchase additioanl batteries if you keep this product.  Overall, if you have a large area to trim I reommend you go with gas as the charging trimmers will not do the job.  this timmer is no longer in my house because it just did not last.  I had it about 5 years and wound up going with a Stihl brand trimmer that is a far superior (and more expensive product) trimmer.  This trimmer is lighweight but between the batery not holding a very long charge and lacking the power long term i recommned you not purhcase this porduct.  Spend another 100 bucks and go with a Stihl you will not be disappointed.

This machine is often easy to use for those mechanically inclined. I have found that the string breaks quite easily and is not easy to restring. That being said, I have several Black and Decker items that are excellent.
