A useful kitchen tool

4

I got this food processor because I figured it would make it easier to prepare foods for get-togethers at my house: dips, spreads, salsas, and the like. It's way more efficient and inexpensive to prepare these treats at home than it is to pay high prices at the store. The processor does the work for me and is well worth the investment. This machine has a nice, sleek look and is easy to use. The controls are clear, and it seems reasonably durable. I bought this model partly because of its wide mouth, which is handy if you want to process a lot of items at once. Regarding power, the processor doesn't do quite as well as I would like, but that's mostly when it tries to handle larger loads. Most of the time, it does perfectly well and shows no signs of struggling.

This is the second food processer I've owned and I wish I had this one first. This can chop anything. It is also capable of chopping larger pieces which means alot less preparation work altogether. Everything locks up safely before it can be turned on which is a huge plus. It's uncomplicated to use even the first time. It is dishwasher safe but I have found that because some food will stay in the smaller channels of the lids and around the blades, I do wash some of the pieces by hand. The rest really do come our of the dishwasher great. It has little "feet" on the bottom that prevent the food processer from moving during use which is great because this machine is really powerful. It has a great nice sized chute that allows food food or liquid to be added during processing which is a great addition. It has saves me hours in the kitchen. The only con I have is the sheer size of the machine. It is too large to be stored on the countertop, so it involves a little lugging around from storage to use.

Black and Decker makes a great food processor!

I have had my Black and Decker food processor for about one year.  I find the Black and Decker to be a less expensive food processor that really works.  I am very pleased with it's ability to chop a variety of things.  I have used it most recently to make homemade salsa.  I am able to add tomatoes and all of the other ingredients directly into the processor and salsa is almost instantly made.  When chopping, I rarely have to open the top to stir or push the food down.  I have used the Black and Decker food processor frequently to make hummus.   It works well chopping up the chick peas to a very fine consistancy.  With the hummus, due to the sticky and thick consistancy I do have to open the top and use a rubber spatula to push the chick peas and other ingredients down toward the blades.  Cleaning the Black and Decker food processor is super easy.  I put all of the parts into the top of my dishwasher and it comes out clean!  Easy to use and clean.

Good processor for the money

I have had my Black and Decker wide mouth food processor for about a year and a half, and I have been extremely pleased with my purchase. I don't use a food processor that often, but when I need one it is for big jobs. My old processor could not handle the job, and when I saw this model on clearance I decided to give it a try. The first thing I like is the sleek look of the appliance. I LOVE the huge 10 cup capacity work bowl. It is so much simpler to make a big batch of whatever I am making without having to make a batch, empty the bowl, and start over (again and again and again.) I also find that no matter how long I keep the processor running, the processor stays put on the counter. My old one sometimes would start to jump a little on the countertop, and I had to keep my hand on it. I also find that the noise the processor makes is not as annoying as some can be. All in all, I think most people will be very satisfied using this processor. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because it can sometimes be just a tad difficult to lock the top on -- but not enough to make me not want to use it.

This is so hard to use, put together and take apart. It locks and I need my husband to take it apart. I never got so mad over a small kitchen appliance. Don't buy it, go for something more simple. It didn't even break up my ice for my smoothie. I just used it once and already the cheap plastic that covers the on and off button, as well as the two speed controls has come off!!!
