I have had this coffee maker for six months ever since I had a medical problem that keeps me from drinking caffeine like the rest of my family. I make my family their coffee in a regular coffee pot and brew my decaf in this one. I am always in a hurry in the morning and since this comes with a thermal travel mug , I can make it and go. In the afternoons when I feel like having a cup of coffee , I do not have to brew a whole pot, just make it in the Single Cup Coffee Maker and I am good to go. It brews coffee quickly and hot. It is very easy to clean up as well and is small so fits easily on a counter top or in a cabinet. It is very easy to use with a nice modern design. I have not had any trouble with it yet and seems to be very durable. I really iike this little coffee maker , it is great for when you just want one cup of coffee or in my case, decaf when the rest of the family drinks regular coffee. It would be great on a desk in your office as well as it is not large. I recommend it.

Everything that could possibly go wrong with the Black & Decker Home Cafe Single Cup Coffee Maker, went wrong. It even caught on fire! I would never, ever recommend this product. It is cumbersome and difficult to open the flimsy lid where the pods go.. I used this approximately once a week for a month. The coffee tasted like the plastic housing. The pod holder broke. The unit part that holds the water broke. After the fourth and final time I tried to make a decent cup of coffee, part of the unit melted and caught on fire! It was an absolute mess. It was a waste of money. Brew Performance coffee tasted like plastic Ease of Cleaning pod holder cracked and made a mess. Ease of Use Nothing but a disaster! Design cumbersome and not easy to open Durability everything breaks on this unit.. the coffee maker caught on fire

I have had two of these Black & Decker Home Cafe units. I was well pleased with the coffee they make. However, after a short time of use, the tabs on the coffee pod holder cracked and broke off (one tab on each side of the holder - the 7.9 ounce side as well as the 14 ounce side). I took the first unit back to the store and exchanged it, only to have the replacement unit do the same. With the tabs cracked or broken off, the unit does not put the steam pressure through the coffee, and leaks around the sealing gasket, causing the unit to become messy and practically useless except to take up a large portion of counter top space. I finally gave up on the second unit and went back to heating water and pouring it through the grounds in a 'cone type' filter. I contacted Black & Decker about this, but they said they no longer are in charge of customer service or satisfaction for this type of machine. The machine I have has no model # on it and says "Made in Mexico." Brew Performance As I stated in my original review: I was well pleased with the coffee they make. Perfect for the ones who will not drink left over stale coffee.   Its easy, simple and very quick to make another cup if you need an extra boost or I just want another cup of coffee.  You save on your expensive coffee beans.  And it makes a good if not great cup of coffee.  Makes a great gift for a single person who loves coffee

The Black & Decker Home Cafe 1-cup coffee maker has definite pros yet definite cons.  I love the fact that the coffee pods are already measured and easy to load, but the coffee strength is difficult to control because of this.  I have learned how to brew the best strength for me by adjusting to a 9-oz. serving size and adding more water.  Also, the coffee pods for this system are becoming more difficult to find in the stores where I shop.  Wal-Mart Supercenter still carries the Foldger's one-cup coffee pods, but I cannot find them anywhere else.  I hope they don't quite offering these because the B & D machine only uses those.  The other issue is that they do not carry the pods in decaf, which I need now for medical reasons. My main complaint about the Black & Decker 1-cup coffee maker is that the coffee does not stay hot long enough.  It comes out at an acceptable temperature, but it cools quickly, especially when using creamer/milk (which I do). The greatest pro of this machine is the convenience!  You don't have to wait more than 1.5 minutes for a freshly brewed cup of coffee.  For that, I accept any negatives that I incur for now.

This coffee pot is simple to use and it can be used back to back for a variety of purposes without any difficulty. It can be used to make a decaf cup of coffee for me, tea for my husband, and hot chocolate for my children. It has become the most used item in the kitchen. The kids come home from school and use it to make cups of noodles for after school snacks. Then when evening rolls around it is used to make everyone their individual evening beverages. There is no need to brew a whole pot of coffee or tea. Now, we can each get the drink we want in just a few minutes. The reservior holds enough for several drinks to be made and when it is empty it lifts off and is very easy to refill. Pushing the button, flipping the top up and putting in either a pod or tea bag makes it easy for anyone to utilize. When all you need is hot water, just put your cup underneath the whole and even the kids can easily create the items they are desiring.

I had a previous model of this and used it until I wore it out.  I was so glad I was able to find another because it makes a great cup of coffee very quickly.  Pods can be pricey, but if you only want a cup of coffee in the long run it saves money from all the wasted pots.  It's very easy to use and easy to clean.  It presses the pods much better than the Melitta One to One and makes a slightly better cup of coffee.

The Black & Decker GT300 Home Cafe Coffeemaker is the best one cup coffee brewer on the market.  This compact unit is perfect for anyone who has limited counter space, is on the go, and who loves a good cup of coffee.  It is so easy to use.  You simply load the pod, fill the water reservoir, insert your cup, press the button, and you're done.  And the Folger's coffee that is compatible to this coffemaker is delicous.  Another thing that is great about this coffeemaker is the clean up.  I don't have a dishwasher so it is very irritating to wash a whole pot of coffe and filter, especially since I only make enough coffee for one cup, or two cups at the most.  That is actually another thing I love about it.  You don't waste coffee.  I always wasted at least 4 cups of coffee because I always found that it didn't taste good unless you made a full 6 cups in the traditional coffeemakers.  But not with this, as it puts out one single cup.  And it's so fast that if I have a friend over who wants a cup, I just make a second.  It takes less time to make two cups than it does to brew a pot of coffee in traditional coffeemakers.  I love this machine!
