Purchased three of these before. One for myself, one for my son. And was given one as a gift. My mother knew I needed one so she purchased one for us for Christmas last year. Just a coincidance that it was the same one I was throwing out. ( the price being low makes it popular.) That is why I bought my son one when I purchased mine. He also threw this out. All three have been replaced. It is hard to get it to work correctly. Performance Very poor performance. The can opener is hard to line up with the cans most of the time. It can be very frustrating. I had to grab my hand held can opener several times because it wouldn't work. Large cans were worse. Anyway, my overall experience with this product was very disheartening to say the least Durability Did not keep it long enough to know how durable it would be.. But in my opinion, it seemed a cheap plastic over it. Design In my opinion, it looks good. But that doesn't help the performance. It should have been designed with a sharper blade too.

For affordability and durability, the Black & Decker Grand Openings Electric Can Opener was my first choice. It's reliable, easy to use and clean. The built-in knife sharpener and bottle opener are a plus, but I really don't use them. I would never go back to using a traditional can opener and highly recommend this product.

Poorly made, weak motor, and knife sharpener only lasted through one use. Very frustrating and disappointing. Only a few sizes of cans would fit to openly cleanly. Most would start and stop and leave gaps unopened, was time consuming and irritating to use. **Black & Decker Grand Openings 3 in 1 Can Opener **has been on my counter for a couple of years.  It looks good but it actually doesn't work any better than any other can opener I've ever owned.  After using it for a few months the opener stopped kicking off when the can is removed. The little trigger gets stuck in, and I have tried every way to keep it from doing that, but to no avail. So I have resigned myself to unplug it every time I use it, to get it to stop.  I don't consider it to be heavy duty can opener either.  When opening large cans for example, you kind of have to "urge" the can around to get the opener to cut through the top. If the can is too heavy, the can opener will topple over. It didn't cost much, so I'll use it until it burns up or the blade gets so dull it won't cut through the metal top at all.  The knife sharpener on the back works but seems a little dangerous, as the metal pieces seem to fly about so I don't use it.

This Black and Decker 3-in-1 Can Opener is a terrific buy.  It comes in white (CO1200) or black (CO1200B).  Once you get a can in the hook and start it, this can opener does all the work.  You can let go of the can, do something else, and when you come back to the can opener, it will have opened the can and will not have spilled your food as it holds the can in place until you release it from the opener.  However, if you have nothing else you need to do, you can stand right there and wait for the can as it only takes a few seconds to get it open.  The other two features are an easy to use bottle opener and a knife sharpener.  These features are as helpful as the can opening feature and work as great as you would expect a Black and Decker would.  The hide-away cord helps to keep clutter out of the way in the kitchen and provides safety in that the cord is less likely to be damaged because it gets too close to another kitchen appliance that is in use.

This Black and Decker electric can opener is by far the best electric can opener I've ever had. The can opener zips through lids of any size can, and it doesn't leave any metal shards like some other brands do. I've never had to run a can through more than once with this machine. It is extremely easy to use, with a large push button, and I like that the cutting mechanism continues to cut after it's started, even if you take your hand off the button. I also like that it's relatively easy to clean, and you can pop off the blade/magnetic mechanism and put it in the top rack of your dishwasher to clean. It has a low profile, and looks good sitting on my countertop. A great can opener for the money!

After a short amount of use our Black & Decker Grand Openings Can Opener began sticking in the "on" position. Often after opening a can I have to unplug the can opener itself to stop the opener motor to continue to run. I have tried cleaning the whole opener itself to be sure there is nothing there holding it down. Some weeks the can opener will work with no problem and does not experience this situation. But some times I will use it several days in a row and experience this problem repeatedly. It is an average-speed can opener. It doesn't move very quickly but it does have enough power to move around the lips of cans which have been dented. Its blade stays sharp enough to pierce cans of all sizes, and I have only had it tip over once or twice when attempting to open really large gallon size cans, which it can do. I like the can opener fine. I haven't been bothered enough to replace it. It does take up counter space, but it could be stored inside a cabinet if you wanted to plug it in each time you needed to use it.

Black & Decker makes the best little electric can opener i have ever had. Its tall so you can use it on any size can. It zips right through and never misses a smidget of the top so you dont have to try it again on one can. Its just so convienent and makes my cooking so much easier and faster. They even make one for left handed people. How many can boast that? I  just recently bought mine and dont know how I ever done without it. If you really  want yourself a great can opener that has no bounds get a Black & Decker that opens any size. It also looks good sitting on your counter .

I got this can opener cause I'm in love with the color red and wanted most of my appliances in red.  This can opener was red as well as being nice and tall.  However after some time when you go to open a can and you know how the can gets cut open by the pointy part of the can opener, it doesnt work no more.  All the can does is go around in circles and makes metal shavings everwhere.  I dont recommend buying anything just cause of the color.

 The Black & Decker Can Opener was bought for my mother. She is not able to use a         manual type opener, so she needs something easy to use. This opener gives her the    ability to use this without any trouble. It also has a bottle opener and a knife sharpner. It is    small enough to be left on her counter and not be in the way.It is also easy to keep clean and at a very resonable price. I would definitely buy one fo myself.
