After reading lots of glowing praise for this iron online, and needing to replace my two year old Rowenta that was leaking out floods of water, I bought and brought it home to a half finished sewing project. I couldn't believe how fast it heated up to the chosen temp (by fabric content) and beeped to let me know, and how perfectly gauged the temperature was! Pressed seam nicely without fear of scorching. Got some interfacing glue on the faceplate, so read the cleaning instructions....just wipe it off with water? It came off beautifully! Every point of use has been a dream. Very Happy Camper here! Performance Very well calibrated on the settings, it give excellent results. Safety Only had it two weeks, but it seems better balanced than any previous iron I have owned in 50 years of sewing. Many an iron has wanted to dive off my board. Haven't had any indication this one even looks unstable...it seems to have a solid base on board. Ease of Cleaning I was impressed already with how easily the interfacing glue just rubbed off with a soft towel and water! I expected to have to use a cleaner. Just followed the booklet's advice. Ease of Use Perfect weight. Slides easily. Stays standing...not top heavy. Just push button to desired fabric content and it heats so fast! and beeps to tell you it is ready. Did I say already that I love this thing?! Durability In such a short time, can't really tell. But it looks and feels very well made. Design Not too heavy to lift. Comfortable to handle. I really like it.

I have to honest, ironing three other peoples clothing not including my own makes me hate ironing. Since I bought the black and decker auto off digital advantage, it literally doesn't feel like as much of a chore. One of the great features is the automatic shut off that is motion detected which I love because sometimes members in the house forget to unplug it. It's easy to use and the digital feature is also very easy to use. It irons every type of clothing effortlessly. It's lightweight and pretty inexpensive for a digital iron with easy to use features. I have another iron that's also good, but this one is definitely better and I love using it. I would definitely recommend it, especially of you have a big family and do a lot of ironing. It also is great on silk which I've had a lot of problems with in the past with irons and putting holes in shirts. It really works well on all fabrics. This is a great little Iron, simple and not a lot of confusing buttons, etc. I was really happy with the small amount I paid for this iron, but my only complaint is the cover over the water well. It breaks off easily. You have to be very easy with the iron to keep it on, which can become quite annoying. It doesn't spit from the steam holes, which is a plus. It's a good weight and provides great steam when ironing. And it has a light that indicates when it is heated to the right temperature and ready to use. It also has a spray function and steam adjuster. Performance It heats up very quickly and irons clothes better than my old Rowenta. Safety It has an auto shut off feature, but I think all irons do these days. Ease of Use All you have to do is turn the dial to the setting you want, let it heat up for a few seconds, then off you go! You're ready to iron. Durability It seems to be very sturdy and well built. I guess I will find out in time because I have a habit of dropping irons. Design It's just a basic iron, nothing fancy, which is probably the reason consumers get it cheaper than less functional leading brands that cost much more.

I myself don't like ironing, but this Iron makes it easy.It's just a basic steam Iron but has lots of things that work for me especially the auto-shutoff.I am forever leaving the Iron down and walking away.It is reasonably priced so if you hate Ironing also you wont feel guilty for buying.I would definately recommend. Performance I think the 1500 watts is great.It has digital readout,automatic cleaner it irons better than a few more exspensive Irons I have bought in past that I will not mention. Safety With the automatic shutoff and and alerts it gives very safe. Ease of Cleaning It has an automatic cleaner built right in.You can wipe off bottom with rag when its cooled off. Ease of Use It has 3 different steam functions also a beeping light that goes off when you have reached your desired temperature. Durability I think its durable enough for the price. Design I do like the design and the grip handle,it is lightweight and easy to use.You also can see exactly how much water you have in the Iron which is nice.

It started as a good iron. After a few uses the water started to spill even when not used as steaming. Ipaid for a good iron, and really was not worth what I paid.It also would not turn off automatically. It also left wrinkles after ironig after the same spot afew time. I kept using it thinking it would eventually work. I had to work twice as hard to keep the wrinkles to a minimum. I could not use starch because instead of helping with ironing,the iron would leave white starchy stains on the clothes. I also used it on some delicate clothes, and so very sad, it actually ruined one of my fave blouses. I decided to purchase another Iron after about a month of purchasing this one. Performance It is not worth purchasing, ironing is a hassle Safety It would not turn off automatically Ease of Cleaning it would kep residue on the bottom...I'm guessing from the water and starch. Ease of Use it was easy to use Durability it would spill the water so was not durable at all Design it was a pretty simple design...not very attracted

I use my irons ALL THE TIME! I'm a seamstress and it's important to me to be able to have my iron plugged in most of the day ready to use whenever I need it. However, I don't like the thought of having my iron ON all that time! An automatic shut off feature is a must for me in an iron. I don't always know how soon I'll need the iron again, so it's wonderful to know that the iron will just shut itself off if I leave it too long without using it. Black and Decker makes good quality irons, and this one is no exception. It's fairly basic and easy to use, but it's also sturdy, and heavy enough to work well for my sewing needs as well as the continual ironing pile that our family has. I like the large capacity water tank, and the good steam. When sewing it's necessary to have a good iron to be able to professionally finish your projects, and I've been pleased with this iron. My only complaint is that I wish it would last a little longer. I usually kill my irons off in about a year with the constant use. However if you're a more "normal" person using an iron occasionally or even regularly but not constantly, I think you'll find that this iron will last you a good long time!

Wow, this iron works better than any Iron I've ever used. Giving the big guys a run for their money. Was skeptical to buy another B&D after my old B&D caught on fire from faulty wires near the base of the unit. After heavy use for 3 months, this iron does all it says. Haven't tried the vertical steam but am sure it works just fine. The price point is great too. So after 2 Rowentas, a Tfal (made by Rowenta) which all had drips and problems,this is definitely the iron for me. I'd recommend, that is if you can find one! Performance The digital display beeps when the temp is exact. The water filler cup looks like a boot, fills easily and iron shuts off temporarily when the water tank is empty. Unplug to refill and in a minute your up and ironing again. Best NO DRIPS unless you overfill the water take or iron before it beeps ready. Safety The Iron cord stays out of the way and appears solid. It sits upright without tipping. Burst of steam doesn't fog glasses or hurt eyes or hands. Ease of Cleaning My only minor complaint is you have to keep pushing the button to empty the tank. Ease of Use Stainless Plate is great and compares to much more expensive irons. It glides over the clothes but it's not too heavy. I love the digital display especially when going to different fabrics. Durability Unlike my other B&D which caught on fire, no complaints yet on this. Is solid but not heavy and so far does the job. Design Really love the digital display and stainless plate. Wish it was in other colors and the water tank was better marked. The cord could also be up a bit more but minor.

With three kids I iron lots of clothes. I fell in love with this iron at a friends and got one myself. It makes ironing much easier. It's easy to use and I love the shut off feature because i do get distracted sometimes or called away from my ironing. It's a keeper.

This is by far the best iron I have ever purchased including Rowenta irons I have had. Performance Heats up fast, takes wrinkles out quickly and delivers a powerful burst of steam. Safety Auto shut off and audible alarm work very well. Ease of Use Smoothest iron I have ever used. It glides over garments with ease. Design It is a very comfortable feeling iron and easy to maneuver.

I bought this iron on a whim and have never been disappointed with it. I can't overstate how easy it is to use; I really like the ease of the digital controls. I have had no problems with this iron leaking and leaving wet spots all over my garments. I always value the auto-shut off option, which gives me peace of mind that even if I forget to turn it off, the iron will take care of that detail for me. This iron steams well, glides over my fabrics, has ample weight to it that makes it feel solid in your hand (not flimsy). It's an all around great buy.
